Username Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 High chance this has been talked about before but whatever I would like to know your personal favorite and "unfavorite" levels in both JO/JA, doesn't need to be just one and no need to explain why My favorite outcast levels are Bespin Streets, Yavin Trial, Yavin Swamp and Yavin Courtyard. Don't like Artus Topside and Nar Shaddaa Streets. My favorite academy levels are Chandrila and Vjun3. Don't care much for Bakura, Blenjeel and Byss. Smoo likes this

Droidy365 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Favourite JKA Level: Probably t2_rogue (Coruscant) or t2_trip (Zonju V) - I've played t2_rogue quite a bit lately, mainly for modding purposes, but I did quite enjoy it; always remember to bring a DEMP 2, though As for t2_trip, I always used to enjoy using the swoop bikes or spawning in a ship to use, despite always crashing into things. Least Favourite JKA Level: t1_danger (Blenjeel) and t3_stamp (Tanaab) - I have very bad childhood memories of these levels, always scared the hell outta me, so glad they were optional.

It was kind of interesting how the devs were able to pull that mission off in that engine, seeing how the AI works normally. My least favorite is one of the last Yavin missions when you're in the AT-ST. The design of the map really didn't age well. JKAI love the vjun missions and the hoth missions. Pretty much all the missions in between the tier missions, because you felt like the story was actually progressing, rather than just doing random things partially related to the Cult. Wasn't a fan of t2_trip either. If the entire mission wasn't the same, then it would be cool but going as fast as you can on the swoop bike just got boring after awhile. General Howard likes this

the_raven Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 In JO: Kinda difficult, most of the levels had immersion and atmosphere, so I liked them greatly, but if I was to choose, I'd choose Kejim_2 and the Doomgiver levels - the latter was all interesting, if a bit tedious; also the levels with the Shadowtrooper labs (don't remember what they were called). It'd be easier to name particular areas in levels.For my least favourite ones, I'll go with anything Nar Shadaa and Academy related (the first was annoying and the second was just disappointing), . In JKA: Dosuun (Rax Jorris - really liked that you had to go through the level without a lightsaber), Kril'dor (X-Wing and the Tibana gas station), Yavin_1 (the very first level, I only wish it was longer), I suppose, Yalara (Noghri), Byss (imperial dreadnought), Chandrila (t2_rift), Tanaab (mutant rancor), Bakura (volcano power plant), korriban_3, Tattooine (t1_surprise), vjun_3 (especially the latter part of the level), dark side Korriban (I had fun). Hoth and Korriban felt like RavenSoft didn't do them justice though. A shame, them's are some of my favourite planets in the SW universe.Of the unfavourites: Blenjeel (giant worms), Zonju V (t2_trip), Yavin (just boring), korriban_1, vjun_1 and vjun_2 (though both had their moments), Taspir (both, annoying, especially the second part). In the past, the list would have been different.

Seeing the Jedi all training early on, and then going through the trials for the lightsaber was so much fun. And then returning later on felt like the perfect send-off. Least favourite Outcast Level(s): The Artus prison level, especially with escorting the imperial (Unless I'm remembering wrong.) I also wasn't a fan of the Nar Shaddaa levels, they felt very mazey. Best thing about them was Reelo, and it was cool he was in Star Wars Galaxies too. Favourite Academy Level(s): I love Blenjeel. Massive sand worms, and having to hide out on rocks and the shipwreck was so awesome. I can picture a Fremen like people on the planet learning to ride them around (though admittedly, that's a bias because I roleplay one in an rp group). I also like the training right after getting to the temple, at the very beginning, and the one mission with Rax Joris. Least Favourite Academy Level(s): Off the top of my head, I don't like the Droid Recovery mission on Tatooine, nor the bomb defusal mission on Bakura. Droidy365 and Circa like this

Gameplay-wise though, it was annoying as fuck. Funny thing too, back in the days i was trying to make a SW fan-comic set during the Clone Wars, and I used the map as a crash-site for a Republic battleship. Too bad I never got through with the idea.

Compared to modern games it's super boring.I meant that watching it for longer than a few minutes, or seeing them do the same things in every other room gets boring, considering how they mostly do the same thing over and over again, but otherwise it's fairly immersive since training is all about repetition, and since you get to see npcs actually do stuff instead of just standing around mindlessly. Anyway, moving on. Come on, guys, who else loves which maps?

And I'd love to say the "t2_rogue" mission (Arresting Lannik Racto, on Coruscant).. As Coruscant is my favourite STAR WARS planet, but it REALLY wasn't done any justice in this game, at all.The whole architecture of the map is wrong. The map that's used in the game for that mission, is actually much more closely resembles somewhere like "Nar Shaddaa". the_raven likes this

And what's with those dudes you had to rescue? Why were they called 'elders'? They didn't look very old, so I take it, 'elder' is a title? But then, what were they 'elders' of? And yes, it was easy to get lost in the map, but still, it was kinda fun, if your idea of fun is getting chased by a rancor so as to give those 'elder' dudes time to escape. Coruscant (...) Btw their faces, it's a bit of a stretch for me to take only 2 dudes as being prisoners,elders,jedi,merchants... when i was a kid playing JO and saw the prisoners in Artus and then saw them as jedi in Yavin i actually thought they were the same guys brought in for training! About the coruscant mission, I wouldn't really call it nar shaddaa (ns is more grimy looking) but I wouldn't call it coruscant too. I guess corellia could be acceptable? Dunno much about it's aesthetic besides it being another metropolis-like planet

Then again, it might have been in the past. Prolly has natural areas, i used to think Chandrila was what we saw in jedi academy but those were actually *underground* crystal canyons. The surface world is actually home to a relaxing scenery with calm seas and green hills, makes me wanna force jump up through the hole jaden falls into and see whats out there...besides the disappointing nothingness of unmapped areas Really love the level ever since i played it over and over on the demo, though i never understood what the hidden symbols scattered around meant. the_raven likes this

The mines themselves and the facility surrounding it really appeals to me. After that it would have to be Yavin IV, the Jedi Temple and Trial levels respectively. They have a terrific atmosphere. As I sit and recall them in my head, I realise how good a lot of the level in JO actually were. Bespin Streets is a good one! Jedi Academy:I always liked t1_surprise. It might be because of the use of jawas, tusken raiders and Tatooine but something about that level just screams Star Wars at me. Then once again it'd be yavin1b and yavin2. I love the early stage Jedi training levels. A lot of games often skip that part or fast-forward through it in a hurry, which is a shame.
