  1. Hahaha! That is tricky. XD Then I give you an alternative (albeit a smaller map).
  2. Finishing JKA's story mode for the first time after a decade, though I have to say it was a really bad choice... >.<' (Worst cutscene ever.)
  3. Except that in this case, Disney legally takes ownership of what you have created, while in the former case you were using copyrighted IP, but the new work itself was exclusively yours. I agree with @@Teancum that this is the only part of the new agreement that I actually like, and find fair. You can (legally) use our content to create new creative works, but whatever you create will go back to us, since it is content from/for our video game and IP -- that's what it says, basically. Which, for the most part, sounds fair. As for paying someone to create content, I believe @@Xycaleth is right. Disney cannot stop you from paying for other services, only from distributing the content made from/for their IP. What I really don't appreciate is the last clause printed here. 1984, here we come. Screw you, Disney (lawyers). What legal right do you have to monitor and log/track my communications and online activities? I'm a free person, and should be respectfully treated as so. I'm not a slave to a corporation just because I'm using your product, and yes, I do take offence. Not much if you own a pre-Disney copy of the game. If you do buy a new copy, and use it, you will be bound by this agreement, however.
  4. It's safe as long as you name the new PK3 to be alphabetically before the assets0-3 PK3s. That way the JKA assets will overwrite any JKO assets if here is a conflict.
  5. In all honesty, I wish this section had only legitimate Star Wars characters that have inspired a fandom, or touched people sincerely. While I understand the need for "not being so serious all the time", making a player model is serious business, consuming a lot of time, and I don't see the benefit of flooding this section with random requests -- especially if they are intended to be "just for fun". Not picking on @@KyleKatarn1995 here. This relates to everyone. I mean it as a "bad habit" we've gotten ourselves into. Anyway, that's just my two cents.
  6. Belongs into Nonsense, methinks. I don't deny that the character, and that that sketch was funny, but I have a feeling many of you don't realise just how much work goes into making a player model. If you were to create it yourself, trust me, you wouldn't do it unless you had a real burning desire to. Light-hearted requests like this just serve to clutter the Mod Requests & Suggestions forum with nonsense. @@Circa @@eezstreet Perhaps we should have a Nonsense/Joke Mod Suggestions (sub-)forum -- or a "Personal Requests" one?
  7. Ah, it's the concept art/reference for the female Jaden. They ended up using it as an in-game human face for various holo-ads and what-not. (Darn... I was hoping it was a hidden tribute to an EU story...) Inspector @@Ramikad has solved the case. Thank you, Inspector.
  8. You think so? Seems a bit forward to insert such a random, and perhaps vain cameo in an otherwise straight-faced story game. Could it not be a Star Wars character? A reference to a stormtooper's, or mercenary's personal story from the EU? It is located on Vjun, in Darth Vader's castle, and it's the bunk of someone who has obviously served in the Imperial army, either as a demolitions expert, or a soldier. Jan came to mind to me at first, if that is meant to be Kyle's old bunk. But then again, he met her after he left the Imperials, didn't he? Was there no behind the scenes revelation that explained this mystery? It really does feel oddly unexpected when you come across it in the game. I couldn't believe my eyes. @@NumberWan and Star Wars detectives gather! This is a call to action! We have a legitimate, unsolved mystery. Edit: Also, it seems to me she's wearing a robe... Could she be a Jedi?
  9. Wait, has this actually even been mentioned before?
  10. Note that you don't have to use a BAT file. You can append the force-game-mode command to the end of the target path of your game's Windows shortcut as well (after the quotes). More seamless.
  11. And including the immortal theme that most gets to me in the Clone Wars and prequel era: the common-like, unexpected fall of a great hero -- reminding us that no matter how powerful, how skilled and experienced we are, there will always be things that are beyond our control, catching us off-guard. The Seven Samurai deals with this as well... among many-many, astounding, other deep themes.
  12. Hahaha! This is brilliant. There is a documentary, called "Everything is a Remix" that talks exactly about this -- how when we create something, we're essentially remixing things we've seen and experienced elsewhere, but as long as the art is presented in a new light, a new mix, with a personal touch to it, we generally don't consider the work a copy or imitation. I've briefly heard about Lucas and the Hidden Fortress before. Now I must watch that film. It looks like an outstanding movie -- but it doesn't have a space war, and hyperdrives, and stormtroopers, and a Millenium Falcon...
  13. I take it this has probably been mentioned before. I've found an interesting hidden cameo in the SP game. Does anyone know who this person is?
  14. As far as I know, whatever is in the OpenJK folder in GameData will be loaded first (or, rather, last) when you run an OpenJK binary, and you shouldn't need to use the forced game mode, unless something is overriding this behaviour -- which is what seems to be happening in your case.
  15. Oh, good point. I mistook the STEs for STRs in the log. In that case I'm really not sure what's causing the crash.
  16. Hmm... that actually makes sense. It seems for whatever reason the OpenJK binary can't read the contents of "assets0.pk3", which may easily be the real cause of the crash. Running the game with admin rights doesn't help?
  17. Cerez

    Ahsoka Tano

Have you put the "saber_tano.pk3" file included in your base folder as well? Otherwise, you may be using @Offspring's player model.
  18. How many people would be interested to see The Clone Wars story -- Ahsoka's life in the Underworld (including Level 1313), and Anakin's gradual fall from the Jedi Order -- continue? I need a show of hands.
  19. Hmm... curious...
  20. Sheesh... that actually looks like a mess. One thing's for sure: something's wrong with your "assets0.pk3". Make sure you didn't accidentally put an "O" instead of a zero at the end of it. That's a common mistake. Otherwise, try to open/extract it. Is it corrupted? I don't understand the VM_Create failure on the "uix86.dll". The only time I've encountered that is when I had mismatching libraries from different builds of JKA.
  21. I don't know, a lot more mature. But as I said, the writing has a lot to do with it, as well. The way she's responding in conversations -- the experience is just not there. She still seems like her 16-year-old self from a decade ago, and that's just not right. People grow, they change.
  22. A player model of Asajj Ventress in her independent, bounty hunter outfit worn towards the end of The Clone Wars.
  23. That I'm taking this project on? Yes. But expect it to take a while to complete (about 6-8 months) if I'm going to be doing this all by myself.
  24. A voice actress, who plays teenagers, yes. I'm not saying that it's impossible for an adult Ahsoka to sound like that. It's just that that's what she sounded like as a teenager already in The Clone Wars. You would think that her voice would mature by the time she is twenty-something. To me, for an adult Ahsoka, she just sounds way too young to be taken seriously. Don't take me wrong, I love Ashley's work, but her vocal performance just does not suit an adult Ahsoka at all in my honest opinion. They've changed everything else about Ahsoka, but they kept her voice. The decision was just a cheap commercial/executive choice. Not much thought was given to it. They figured that if her voice sounds the same, and she looks somewhat like the original Ahsoka, most people will go for it -- and I guess they were right. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. As a dedicated fan, I still think it was a cheap and horrible choice. They could have done so much better if they had actually put some effort into it, and focused on quality in storytelling instead of being entirely focused on marketing the show.
  25. That's good, but be patient. James is very busy, I'm sure, and he'll need to dig up the old files (if he's willing to share). Regardless of whether he is willing to share the source or not, if he approves of this project, I think we should attempt it regardless -- even if only with ent modding and scripting at our disposal.
