YES EXACTLY! That's my problem, it doesn't import it good (mostly triangulated models with 2x more polygons) or it doesn't import at all... I'll try getting my hands on one of those student versions, I am a student of Informational Technologies after all. I'll try that and see where this goes... anyhow, I think you answered what I needed, if anything else comes up, I'll post here. In the mean time, THANK YOU! A lot!

well .3ds is not supported by gmax, also gmax is old, it mostly messes with the normals facing the wrong way, it gives an error or such... I tried with those formats you suggested, they don't work... and yes, I meant doing and mapping a model in Cinema4D/ Texture it with Mudbox and than port it over like that to gmax, so I could use it in JKA...

Well besides JKA I also do weapons and smaller mods for Skyrim. I've come pretty familiar with cinema4D and I got curious, is there any way I could make a model in Cinema4D and port it over to gmax? that would make my models a ton better. I actually think this is impossible, but I tried googling a bit and I see there's a possibillity to port it to 3DSmax. Well I don't have 3DSmax, so that's why I'm asking you guys..

The latest update brings you a vanilla blade recreations, but much much much more beautiful and on a higher resolution, so even looking up close won't hurt the quality! It's not about that really from my perspective, as a modder that makes files public, I think it schould be done to the publics choice. I can always make my own mods or things I want my way to play with And I reckon it would be fitting to make actuall HD Recreations of the originals, as I said, down to every last detail. I can offer my texture choice as an addition. That's decided, written down and now everybody knows it haha @@eezstreet are you working or at least familiar with gmax? Else, when I finish the guns also sometime later on, you're gonna need my help to do the mod for you and any model fixing, bugs... If so, I offer it. You may take the guns models when I finish, no prob. EDIT: Okay the model for the Defender is done and I have practically all the hard models behind me for now. The firebrand is kinda the easiest of the sabers to do I'm already sketchin up the singles from the dual sabers. in the mean time, you may take a look at the new defender, though don't think this is the final version, I'm in the process of fine-aligning vertexes and UV maping, tough the "shield" that's around the hilt will probably need reworking on a higher poly base. I'll have to go along with a more complicated mapping. -.-

Well at the submiting page here, I chose not to let others use my model... But I gotta let you know that KOTOR is to me the same as JKA and I plan on doing mods for it also. Wait a week or two and the first saber will be Revan's for Kotor. I planned something like that anyway, though I still want to go check out if it already exists. Now that I think about it... you may try yourself and use the model if you credit me, as you want. You have my permission.

Well I'm rethinking my WeaponsHD mod as of now, you know @@Circa? Actually I'm gonna keep the Arbiter as he is and most of the other sabers, but I'm gonna re-do most of the others or re-edit them. I'm gonna do an actual RE-CREATION, down to every single possible detail... I think that's what you want to see.. and you know what? That's actually what this could or rather SCHOULD be for the gold pack. I'll include the feature with additional skins and just offer my own texture draw for choice, as I already planned anyway.

My whole plan is in the first post of this topic. Any major updates on the mod will be updated and presented there.. But in short, yes. I was planning on doing them also. First is the hilts remake and I'll see how I can help the Gold Pack, after that I'm gonna continue.

Yeah thanks I figured it out Uhm I have another question though, I got some ideas for mods using effects... in the EXT_data helper files I don't see commands listed for custom effects. Where can I look this up? It's hard to find on Google. You know, I mean the .sab file commands you can give the sabers..

Revan's Lightsaber DESCRIPTION: This update brings a fixed sizing of the model once again, the screenshots on JKHub show it all to you. I think this might be the before-last version. I'm gonna see what else comes up, also I'm gonna try to recreate 0.1 model resized like this one, even for just one single request. A real moder gives his all for the community, or so I think. BUGS: I fixed all possible bugs reported, though there was a request for the 0.1 model resize version... I'm sorry, I can't give you that since I modified the max file and overwrote the 0.1 model, naturally. I could try to recreate it but I don't think it's needed since this model is as nice as it can be. COMMENTS: Please mind that the addon replaces all defender sabers ingame with Revan's! If you have any further requests or ideas for it, feel free to message me, though if there's more, I'll wait, do variations and release them as one pack. -
Yay ^^ Just 3 more sabers to go, then I have to yet add Katarn's, Luke's, Stinger and my Revan's sabers to the SP menu, make them have a name in the menu and voila! :3

@@Circa The first or second fix? I'm staying with the second, it's more like the original... tough this stupid gmax always messes with the map drawing on every edge...It reads the UV map wrong I think. as you can see especially well here on the top in the picture...

You mean just the top? I'm making higher polys of them Circa They're my mod pack, because they're not some strict fix of the models, it's made to some degree to my liking. They're still meant to look LIKE the originals, allthough. EDIT: Ya know what? I'm actually too kind to oversee what you said... I would've edited it either way. I like it. @@Circa you? I updated the first fix... I looked again at the original... I hope this saber is a good replacement now @@Circa

Guy's, I'm gonna start posting in this topic a bit differently. First off, the sabers I presume are completed more or less (model and tex), will be posted in the FIRST POST ONLY. Secondly, I'll be posting pics normally on things I need your opinion... so please, read what interests me and try to give me some feedback, 'cause this mod's made for YOU, for the community. It's what I actually need the most and get very little.

Yeah well I've done just the texture @@Omicron, well you're kinda right, I also don't like this look anymore... I have to look for some photoshop tuts for different metal texturing and I'll try some variations, the pictures will be up soon EDIT: I like this texture actually a bit better myself. It looks a little bit dull, but with a nice shader, it could be pretty good ingame. Which one do you like more? Please leave me a comment! EDIT: The Sentinel

I fixed up a bit the Adept, as I'm gonna make it have chrome-like reflections with an enviromental map... Not on all parts, but I'm satisfied as I can be on the look. Also downsized the texture on the Adept to 512x512. Pictures: Right now I'm in the process of reworking the consul, I'll add pics here soon... and I'll be well over half done with the single sabers for the pack, which means that after this, I'm only gonna have to write some shader files, modify the sab files a bit, @ is helping me testing my mods out and after that, it's release time. :3 just a few more days

well yeah, sory, forget this model. Gonna do it tomorrow anew, made totaly in spite of the original. This model would need just too much fixing. Also, a big update awaits, the praetor model is done. :3 I think I'll have enough time to make and finish the consul and texture the praetor.

@@Circa, what say you now? going the right way? I have to make the orange metal-like lines over those black ones, give them a good blending and a bit of filtering to flow into the texture under it... and voila. I also kinda like that I've made parts darker, if you disagree with me, I can still remove it. Maybe it's just me, but I think I lost the track of the original look somewhere in the making.
