  1. I'll be on IRC at E3 like last year. It's next week, isn't it?
  2. It's only a rumor, but I suspect that it could be accurate.

    Interview: SiLink

SiLink imma let you finish but Makermod is the greatest mod of all time.
  4. Nope, they're owned by Bethesda now.
  5. Yes but this sort of discussion belongs in the thread for it. I'm not sure I understand why it warrants a second thread.
  6. 2015 is shaping up to be the shakeup year of the decade. In terms of movies, four very promising film franchise returns: Mad Max Fury Road, Jurassic World, Terminator: Genysis, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Marvel will be producing another Spider Man movie, taking the reins from Sony. This will certainly be a big year for games as well. For the first time, Bethesda will make an appearance at E3, showing off Doom 4 - the first public game footage and first new entry in Doom since 10 years ago. And, just announced - Fallout 4, which from the trailer suggests that it will take place before and after the Great War, and break ground in a new Boston locale. There are also rumors of a Dishonored 2, new Wolfenstein content and more ESO expansions. There are of course EA and Activision. No doubt EA are going to show off Battlefront, a new Battlefield, Mirror's Edge, and the new Need For Speed game as well as Madden, while Activision will talk about Black Ops 3 and their reboot of Guitar Hero. I honestly don't see that many surprises coming from them. Same with Ubisoft - Just Dance, Assassin's Creed, Rayman, Tom Clancy, and probably some new IP. Is there something you're looking forward to at E3 next week?
  7. Oh god. Spot on with the "dangerous criminal" part. You have no idea how many times I've had people come up to me and discreetly ask if I could hack into their ex's email. I'm a software developer, not a master hacking wizard or something.
  8. Could you maybe specify what mistake you were making? Others might have made the same mistake.

    Interview: SiLink

Well I'd like to play devil's advocate here for a moment. Suppose you are a player/clan member/someone who is interested in interviews like these. Why would you be interested in an interview with a developer for a mod? This is something that I think quite a few people have complained about before. I don't know if any interview is "necessary". We do these features ultimately for whomever may be interested. That being said, like @@Syko this interview just wasn't that interesting to me but that's because I don't have an interest in clans in general. I'm sure others do.
  10. Is there a point to this thread? Not defending Rebels, but I think that this reeks of bait/is trying to justify ragging on something.
  11. I wonder if @@Circa has an opinion about this since he's done similar things for school projects. Either way, I kinda agree that this ruins the scene. The music was quiet and eery for a good reason: we're gawking at Anakin (read: not Vader) in pure wonder and amazement, and there's some kind of magic lost when the music makes it hard to hear what's being said.
  12. I don't know. Try viewing lots of footage of people talking and see if the tongue us visible and/or animated. I can picture only one other usecase outside the one you mentioned: having the mouth open slackjaw in an expression of surprise, confusion, disgust or pleasure might expose the tongue.
  13. ? I never said that the SERVER code was going to be super difficult to compile, rather the CLIENT.
  14. If you want to get it to compile on Linux you're going to be in for a much more interesting compile since the client was never intended to run on Linux. Mac won't compile right out of the box either. Not just a VC issue.
  15. (Being marketed for and containing content appropriate for are two completely different things. Explain why such a show is on Cartoon Network, and why the prequels contained cartoony sidebars meant for children)
  16. 1. Missed the point. If a kid doesn't watch TCW, they're not going to be interested in TCW playsets. 2. I would think that parents have a general idea what their kids are interested in. My parents never bought me Spider Man crap because I was never interested in it. Anyway, again, TCW is marketed for 10 year olds. Disney Infinity is marketed for 10 year olds. Problem?
  17. Make a few missions and release them. That way, others can give you feedback and you can develop the idea in your head more while simultaneously developing the skills necessary to actualize it.
  18. You're assuming two things though: 1. Kids wouldn't pick something more familiar to them, like Mufasa or Simba if we're using TLK as an example. You have to purchase each character, and I find it highly unlikely that you're going to buy Disney Infinity characters just for the express purpose of learning about them. Infinity isn't about creating a canon universe, it's about "What happens if Spider Man and Obi Wan Kenobi teamed up to fight people?" 2. Kids are the ones purchasing these things. More often than not, the parents are.
  19. Yeah, you can compile 1.00 but you'll have to do a lot of adjustments as it won't compile on modern compilers. It's mostly trivial adjustments, just a lot of them.
  20. Probably not a great idea to make a big mod first when you haven't made one before. Start small. You're setting yourself up for discouragement otherwise.
  21. Just add a new member to the enum. MODs aren't really anything special.
  22. ok but that doesn't change the fact that TCW is marketed towards children and on programming designed for children. Disney Infinity is marketed towards children. problem?
  23. Hell, the prequels dealt with: politicsspace diplomacyimplied rape and sexual slaveryother forms of slavery/indentured servituderacist stereotypesassassinations of political figuresdismembering hundreds if not thousands of peoplegenocidewar over taxesbeheadingsyet it's trivialized with tons of toys and dolls and other assorted crap merchandise. The whole point that "TCW is full of adult content" is kinda moot when it's advertised for and broadcast on a channel meant for children.
  24. Q fscking Q They've been marketing crap to kids for years. No surprise that they'd make toys that are part of Disney Infinity. They're doing it to Marvel too. Don't understand how it's a bad thing at all, especially since "well it looks dumb" is what I've been saying about TCW for years.
  25. It's no small task. This is a massive, massive rewrite we're talking about here.
