Suggestion - GSA ME themed map, your ME guns and models, sex amirite?
-
No, as in tying the text to news posts, that way we can see the latest JKHub news across sites.
-
Make it say something other than "Want this bar on your site?" or "Introducing: JKHub". It should have some kind of tie in with site content, like specifying in your news posts what can and can't be in the rotation.

Modern Weapons Pack (Way back when)
eezstreet replied to eezstreet's topic in General Modding Discussions
I'd only want to look at them. Memories and whatnot. Do you know what all you have from that pack? I only really recall three weapons. EDIT: It was also initially packaged for JK2 -
There used to be a modern weapons pack that was found to be ported. I'm curious here, what game was it ported from? I believe it was from pcgamemods but I'm not sure. Some of the models included: - M249 SAW (replaced repeater) - Dragunov / unsure (replaced disruptor) - Shotgun (probably W1200, replaced flechette) EDIT: I have exactly one screenshot from this pack, that was the M249 SAW.

PNG is not without its faults however. It loads slower than JPGs and TGAs because PNGs need to be decompressed, which can impact the load time greatly.

Petition to lock threads instead of deleting posts
eezstreet replied to eezstreet's topic in JKHub Feedback & Help
I think you need to mention in the post as well that's being edited to notify everyone that the post is being edited. I think this ought to be advocated instead of whole post deletions as some topics (I can name quite a few) get really confusing, and in the case of one thread, the entire thread was more or less derailed (and if not that, then at least skewed in its meaning) -
Allow me to interject for just a moment. Adobe products are in no way affiliated with Microsoft directly (fact: a lot of their tools work on Mac too) and in some cases actually do their job better than anything that Apple brings to the table? Why might this be? Because Adobe is actually a company centered around software creation for these platforms and chances are they know what they're doing. A few of their better or more popular products include After Effects, Audition, Flash Media Encoded (literally the Audacity of the video streaming world as far as I'm concerned) and Photoshop. A few of their worse or more useless products are Flash, Dreamweaver and Fireworks (literally...what is the point of Fireworks? haven't found one yet). Apple as far as I'm concerned doesn't have anything on Adobe. As for 'MS being a copy'..allow me to point out two points of evidence that somewhat disproves that. - The iPhone with it's lockscreen came out nearly five years after the first phone with a lockscreen appeared on the market, which was made by (hint hint) Microsoft. But wait! There's more! Apple actually patented this lock screen idea and was one of the five patents that Samsung 'broke'. Wat. - Windows Vista was the first MS operating system with ASLR built in. Came out in 2007. Mac came out with a cheap ASLR copy later that year that didn't actually protect anything. Took them until 2012 to make decent ASLR on their system (LOL)

Right. If you ever get anything interesting (like prone...which I've been harped on since god knows how long to add) let me know.

i still have a pic of my jailbroken iPhone from way back when. god i miss having a jailbroken iphone..

Try turning off the V-Sync setting ingame, that could alleviate some FPS issues potentially (it's given some absurd naming ingame, like 'sync monitor refresh rate to screen' or some nutty shite)
-
Also it had a pretty boring quest system (go to town, go other places and kill people, go back, rinse and repeat) and a lack of likeable characters. Except for that dwarf guy. He was kinda cool I guess. As for the homosexual references in the game, well, that's what happens when you promote an insignificant writer to be the top of the game writing department. She's also a major dick, from what I've heard.
-
It's a sausagefest because until half way into the game as a male character, you don't get any sort of non-gay romance options.
-
I've heard of Natural Selection since a long time ago. Not exactly news.
-
The first (and last) BioWare game I ever played was Dragon Age 2. Needless to say, if every game is as much of a sausagefest as that one...not interested in what you're selling, Casey Hudson.

You didn't edit them out, you just deleted the whole posts for the most part, and there was little indication that they were edited. -
Petition to lock threads instead of deleting posts
eezstreet replied to eezstreet's topic in JKHub Feedback & Help
There's no need to delete entire posts for insults. Just edit the insults out and display a friendly reminder at the bottom of their posts not to insult other people. For instance: Original Post: Edited to: This would solve so much thread continuity issues with just flat out deleting posts on sight that contain any insults at all. If the conversation doesn't seem to be going anywhere, then LOCK the thread, don't just delete so many posts until people give up on posting. That doesn't solve anything. Locking the thread tells people 'hey, don't do that!'. Deleting just makes people confused. -
You mentioned that rotation options would be expensive. How expensive we talking here? What about clientside prediction?

Petition to lock threads instead of deleting posts
eezstreet posted a topic in JKHub Feedback & Help
I hate how people keep deleting posts on these boards. It really disrupts a lot of the forum and serves no purpose. My petition would be to lock threads instead of rampantly deleting them or their contents. 'Like' this post to sign my petition. -

But you said that bounding boxes for players were brush models, did you not? Offspring: nerd banter = MLP thread

Doesn't matter what resolution you set JA to, it still uses the dimensions for the entirety of the UI as if it was in 640x480... So if you want the way to make a good UI, make your UI set up to your resolution and then scale down to 640x480
