  1. Haha that's the file. Where'd you find it? I had to go to him and ask for it lol.

He probably got it from Tyrael when he made it back in the day. I remember it on the Void and I think @katanamaru was on the Void as well if I'm not mistaken. I just went through some old PM's there and I had some from you katanamaru. Asking how to make animations with Dragon. :P

Here's the thread I'm talking about. I was more involved than I remember. My username was Second Start there. Apparently all username changes went away because that was my original one.

I had no idea that's what that was... :o

I figured there were a lot of people that didn't know that. :D

My circa means about... is the English one different?

No, it's the same. The word circa is Latin for around or about. Usually said when talking about an approximate year or date.

I originally had the name CircaCitadel which ROUGHLY meant "around the fortress". Then I shortened it to Circa because it has a nice ring to it.

  3. I just wanted you all to know that I changed my name from ibonek. I wanted my name here to be the same as everywhere else on the Internet. For the sake of consistency.

Also, I chose my previous name when I was young and naive. Spelling Kenobi backwards was very clever for a 12 year old...

  4. My GF has a brand new Mac Book Pro, iPad, iPhone, etc. Used them plenty, would rather build my own PC to my liking, so much more... well... personal. There is SOOOOOOOO much you can't do with a Mac.

First video is done, if you want a little preview just go into the link in my sig.

I guess if you like building your own machines, then yeah, Mac isn't the way to go. But the OS is just as personable. The only thing I haven't been able to do with a Mac is small things that always have to do with certain software or game not available for it. Even then, I just use Wine to make them work. The only thing I couldn't get working was The Old Republic and that's because of the strict launcher. It runs great on my Windows partition.

    Anyways, sorry for that. :P

Okay cool. I'll check it out! Thanks!

  5. Yeah and if I remember right you use a Mac *shudders* which may not work out so well for you since I don't believe there is a Mac version of the software. Don't think there are even mac versions of the tools needed to compile models and animations, unless someone has made them recently.

Besides, using Softimage is the most sure fire way to get models and animations into the game without issues as long as you're doing it right.

I have 2 different VMs running Windows 7 and XP. Don't worry about me. :P

Macs are so unappreciated on this site. It's crazy. People usually say that stuff because they've never used one. :P

  6. Haps Stormtrooper is a rebuild of the base JO Stormtrooper by Raven, he edited the model and repainted it which is why the texture sheet layouts are almost identical to Raven's. My Stormtrooper has a higher than usual triangle count and is the ROTJ armor.

    It's posted here because it's for Chalk's project so he has a 100% user-made Stormtrooper. ;)

    About the lens:

Then lens are black and only shine dark green when the light hits them.

I knew you had a good reason, was just curious. It looks amazing, can't wait for it!
  7. ^Might start tonight, I'll probably separate it into multiple videos so that I don't have to worry about F'in something up.

1-Posing/fitting to skeleton and setting up groups

2-Enveloping model (wont be start to finish, that would be super long, just showing my way of getting a good envelope in good time)

3-Segmenting, hierarchy and caps (yes caps, they're stupid easy to make you should be ashamed if you skip them)

4-Finalizing, compile and test in Mod View/game

5-Bonus video to be made at a later time LOD's (yes it's best to do them last since you can just copy/paste the weight maps from the highrez model)

Should be all of it. You'll still need basic knowledge of the software, you wont be able to just watch the videos and toss a model in game right away so get to studying.

Awesome. What software would that be exactly?
  8. I spent all day yesterday working on the effects for the Geonosian gun. It's going to replace the DEMP2 gun but I don't think there's a way to change the electricity portion of the gun. So it'll look silly, but oh well. I don't think I'll be getting a Geonosian model anyway, so the only time it will be used is on droids for the most part, and they'd probably spark up like that when hit anyway. I did my best at created the effects for the projectile and muzzle flash for the gun. I'm awful at editing effects so I guess it's pretty decent.
