  1. I'll admit that a lot of the episodes were boring mainly the ones revolving around diplomacy and all that nonsense but I continued to watch it because it had potential. To be honest you can say that it sucks all you like, you can bash it and name its flaws all you like, but until we see something superior from you then you can't really say anything lol. It's like these people who say "Dude you suck at singing don't give up your day job!" they're the sort of person I'd enjoy throwing a microphone at and say "Go ahead oh master of singing, dazzle us with your skills!" I'm not bashing you I'm just saying that it kinda makes a person a hypocrite when they bad mouth a person or a thing yet they can't do any better themselves lol. If you want you bash something then go ahead but unless you can do better then your argument is invalid xD
  2. Wasn't that scary but I get why it startled you xD
  3. Are you using a graphics tablet? If not try to see if you can turn down the flow from the airbrush or make the airbrush size larger? Message me or something, I have a lot of experience in making textures and all that stuff so I can probably help more =)
  4. I never port things over I prefer to do everything from scratch and get as close in accuracy as possible when it comes to measurements even if it means going back into the game numerous times, taking screenshots and then scaling things accordingly.
  5. I would but it spans two 27" monitors so it'd be a waste to only post the one now wouldn't it? lol.
  6. I'm actually currently re-making the multiplayer maps on UE4 Well the JKA ones anyhoo.
  7. Not sure if any of you are interested but Wing Commander III is free to download on Origin for a week or so. I downloaded it for the hell of it and it's actually quite fun trying to work out all the controls lol. Back then games really relied on the fact that you had an instruction manual to read but this doesn't have that so I'm just sitting there pressing all the buttons, firing missiles at my wing-man and he keeps saying "Is something wrong???" yeh I dunno how to fly the damn thing lol. Sometimes the old games are the best xD Plus Mark Hamill is the main character of course so that's a bonus
  8. I actually use that character sometimes on JKA xD
  9. Doesn't matter I already got him sorted with one for a good price from my friend. He builds computers for a living so he pretty much knows what he's talking about when it comes to things like this. Besides $159 is kinda over his budget and since my friend is giving him one that's less cash but better performance then yeh it's all good. Yes it's one that he's used in the past but it's also the same model GPU that I have and it's more than good enough for what he needs. This way he gets a pretty good graphics card that can run games on ultra (if the rest of his specs match it of course) for a good price plus he's able to spend the remaining cash, all of which he would have blown on a GPU, on other things for his computer.
  10. @leadarc I'll speak to him he says he may be able to help with possibly an even better card but cheaper.
  11. Well I have 8 cores, 8Gig RAM, Asrock motherboard and a GTX460 GPU and coupled together they run even high end games perfectly. I was lucky though because, even though I build computers myself, my friend built it for me for free because it's his job to build computers and such so he a lot of spare parts. I mainly use it for making music (which can be a strain on the CPU depending on what you're using) and creating games/mods so it really depends on what you're wanting to use it for to be honest. I could speak to him and see if he has any parts he'd sell and he does sell them cheaper because I'm a friend but I can imagine you'd want brand new and not "new but been sitting on a shelf for a year or two" The reason he does it is because somebody once helped him a lot in the past and now he believes in doing the same for others.
  12. I know it's not really an option but try using a different browser for your JKA downloads I guess.
  13. I really enjoyed playing KOTOR, played it maybe 3 times because it was kinda different to the Star Wars games we're used to. Welcome to the forum.
  14. Yeh because you know everything about modeling, the list of files you've uploaded is insane! As for the rest of you I'm sorry if there's been a lack of understanding I know you meant well and perhaps I should have stated that it is for a Machinima. I believe that if I were making it for use in this actual game and not Machinima then I'd have taken poly count into consideration. Next time I shall not show work until I am certain that your advice has been considered into it. Ping, I temporarily unblocked you because I thought you may have matured since day one pretty much the day I thought "Now there's somebody worth blocking and no mistake!" You're the sort of person who jumps into a fight and jabs people in the side once everybody else has landed the punches and done your fighting for you. So you go back onto my block list. I'm going to go work on some projects now so I wont be back to the forum for a while, maybe I'll just get back to what I was originally doing and pretty much what I know. Maybe it was foolish of me to think that I could adapt to an engine with such a low polygon count but you guys are obviously great at it and I respect you for that Cheerio!
  15. So you're saying he didn't make that with intentions of posting on the file section all shined up and everything therefore making my work null and void? Okay cool! GAH whatever I don't even care anymore I was only doing it to help somebody and at least he thinks it's great and that's all that matters.
  16. @@MagSul yet it has been stated by said people that they DO use 1k+ polies on their hilt models so how is this any different? I am merely re-arranging things how I see fit. Just because they model hilts in a certain way it doesn't mean that everybody else should follow the same method. If I wish to add detail to an area that I believe needs detail then I'll do that and sacrifice other areas it's just the way that I work. There have been lots of artists through-out history who have done things differently and been frowned upon and even criticized by other artists but their work is still good in its own way. So these guys make lightsabers differently do I criticize the way that they make them or how they look? No because that's just how they make them and it's none of my business as long as they're happy with their work. I only criticize when people start to criticize me and the work that I'm proud of, or they try to make a point by making what they believe to be a better one and rubbing it in my face. I spent quite a while bringing that hilt down from 9k to 1,200 polies because I originally didn't make it for a game. It's like building a bird house or whatever and you're proud of your work and then somebody comes along and puts one next to it with improvements and it makes them feel good about themselves, re-asserts their authoritative position on making bird houses as if to say "Know your place bitch!" However I've decided not to listen to this so called advice as I've been making models for the Source Engine and Bungie Engine for many years so I too know what I'm talking about. Engines where the polygon count needs to be low and not exceed a particular amount. This particular hilt is curvy at the front and I'm not about to replace them curves with a 45 degree line all because "it's efficient."
  17. There's criticism and then there's well on here there's just that. There's no encouragement or positive views and trust me people need such things really help them want to better themselves. I had bad experience many years back on the Gearbox forums where this particular group of people would do nothing but insult my work, say that my modeling was crap and would never amount to anything. They almost made me want to give up 3D modeling altogether but I decided not to do that because it would only serve to make them win and continue to be arrogant little buggers. Then I've been on forums where people actually tell me good points and bad points and are supportive both towards me and what I'm doing and I've even re-done entire models because they made me believe in myself and I respected them. Then you get the sort of "in-betweeners" who tell you that your work sucks even though most everybody else disagrees. They do it because they see you as a threat and they want to throw you off the trail so to say because they truly believe that knowledge is power. Criticism is good but if it's pure negative to the point where it only discourages people from wanting to carry on with their work then it's best to just ignore them people and keep doing what you're doing. If it takes longer to learn then so be it but you'd not have learned from bad influence you'd have learned the right way. Going back to the topic at hand I too feel the same way about this. There have been a few times where I've posted something that I'm passionate about or feel really excited about whether it be a toolkit or a model and what-not and I've either been shot down or indirectly insulted. I'm not going to linger on one particular thread that comes to mind but I was left feeling that I was an amateur artist who is easily impressed by shiny things because my work is so crap I have to pull the wool over peoples eyes to see past it using flashes and visual magic. It's almost like living in a bipolar community sometimes. People can be really friendly, have a good laugh, and generally be nice. But when it comes to posting things that personally interest you, that personally make you feel great about a particular thing then most of said people attack you, degrade you and almost even mock you for it. No doubt I'll get a lovely response to this but I suppose that I should learn to expect it.
  18. For all you artists out there.. I find this to be such an amazing song, truly inspiring and I hope that it brings even a little inspiration to your creativity too. It's the sort of song that makes you want believe in yourself as an artist.
  19. J.J sticking to as many physical props as possible.. Hats off to him!
  20. Could also browse through DeviantArt but some people want money for their work.
