Szico VII Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Originally posted a start to this map a while back, but have now started the project up again! This map is called Verschneit/BlueIce Village (going to make a tie-in with Twilight hopefully) Verschneit means snow covered, and the name comes from the Medal of Honor map of the same name, as does the original inspiration for this map! As it stands it's around 40% complete in terms of brushwork and structure, and I haven't looked into interactivity much yet, that'll come later. It's going to be a medium-large sized map with indoor and outdoor areas Edited September 25, 2012 by Caelum Morabis, Sentra, therfiles and 7 others like this
MagSul Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I think I may have stumbled upon this somewhere, a long time ago. :blink:This sir, is awesome-tastic. I really love the atmosphere you've put into the place!
Szico VII Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 I think I may have stumbled upon this somewhere, a long time ago. :blink:This sir, is awesome-tastic. I really love the atmosphere you've put into the place! Indeed you did - ironic flashback coming up..."I'd be more enthusiastic about finishing if the only remaining high profile place to get it reviewed wasnt full of holes and bugs" "Well, maybe JKHub can remedy that once it's open."
Szico VII Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Cheers bud. Is a heart too friendly? ;p......yes. ;D
KDR_3XILE Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 That is one awesome looking Villiage, good to see a bit of an extension from Blue Ice Twilight. Very easy on the eyes, indeed. Great job so far!
Szico VII Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 I guess it is a bit like twilight, never saw it as an extension to that until now
Turquoise Dragon Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Ooooh....It's because of beauties like this that I'll never say I'm an expert mapper. Sweet job so far.

The One and Only Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I don't remember if I already asked, but how closely does this resemble the layout of the original? Verschneit was probably my favourite MoH:AA map.
CaptainChar Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I remember when you first posted screens of this map
Sentra Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Oh. My. God. NORMAL AND REAL SNOW IN JA!!!111I love this map!
Szico VII Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 I remember when you first posted screens of this map Then you must be bloody old... I don't remember if I already asked, but how closely does this resemble the layout of the original? Verschneit was probably my favourite MoH:AA map. The basic layout is almost identical - with some minor differences in size and spacing. Some more update: Turquoise Dragon likes this
CaptainChar Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 szico, you single handly could have designed the towns in the fable series
Szico VII Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 I must play this 'fable' game... Turquoise Dragon likes this
CaptainChar Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 following with szico's tradition, will there be an easter egg hunt so to speak?
Szico VII Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Question: will it have building interiors as well? Interiors are cool. Anywhere you see a glowy yellow door, there will be an interior following with szico's tradition, will there be an easter egg hunt so to speak? Probably..but need to finish the structure first CaptainChar likes this
MUG Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Looking very awesome. Semi related question: did you make your own textures for this? Or do you use existing ones/modify existing images?
Szico VII Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 All the textures (even the caulk shader would you believe it ) are custom - some I made, some are from texture sites, one or two are from MOHAA.
MUG Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Please stop, it's so beautiful it makes me never want to attempt to make a map again.
