GojiraGamer Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 So right now I'm working on a mod to replace the music in JKA with music from KoTOR, but when I try to change the menu music, all I get is silence. Can anyone tell me how to solve this?
Lancelot Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 @@GojiraGamerI think it's because Jedi Academy supports MP3 formats with about 120 kBit/s. If your files have more than that, like320 kBit/s, you should convert them into 120 kBit/s. A question to those who are into coding:Is it possible to modify the game so that it recognizes MP3 files with higher quality?
Ramikad Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Also, wasn't there something about music being mono or stereo? Or am I confusing it with sounds?

The only sound-related value that's been increased is the default playback frequency (from 22kHz to 44kHz). Boothand likes this

I seem to recall I could be a lot more careless with wav files and have it accepted in OpenJK, but I may remember incorrectly. For mp3s and wavs, or one of them, I think it has a cap on 44khz sample rate, but the console should usually state what's wrong.
Circa Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Pretty sure vanilla requires 44kHz as the maximum for both wav and mp3. I remember that being a console error I've seen many a time. Tempust85 likes this
GojiraGamer Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 Any idea how I can change the output?

Circa Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Ah. I used to use that back in the day, but don't have it anymore. I believe the options are in the File or Edit menu, though that could he completely wrong.
GojiraGamer Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Thanks! I think it worked. Now to test it out...
