z3filus
Jedi Academy was powered by the same game engine as its predecessor, Jedi Outcast , released in 2002 (Quake III: Team Arena game engine)How different would Jedi Academy look like if it was released in 2014? If it was made because of the announced plans for a sequel trilogy to the films. So imagine, discovering the plans for a "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" game in 2014Would Kyle Katarn be in the game? If so, would he be the leading character?Would Luke Skywalker be in the game? Would he be the leader of the Jedi Academy?Would Han Solo actually appear in the game instead of just the Millennium Falcon?Instead of Tavion returning, could there be a cyborg Desann as the main villain?Think about it Link to comment
JediBantha
Instead of Tavion returning, could there be a cyborg Desann as the main villain? If he did, he most likely wouldn't be a cyborg; He was dying for sure in Outcast, but we didn't see any parts of his body cut off, and Kyle only checked Desann's grip on his lightsaber, so Desann would most likely have regained conciousness some time after the remnant forces are being rounded up, made his way to a shuttle, and further strengthened his connection to the Force. z3filus likes this Link to comment

Stoiss
If we had a JKO/JKA game with the next gen engines today, it would be TFU all over again, button smash combos and no free style movements, no awesome saber system like we have it today Omicron likes this Link to comment

Not to mention you have to saber an enemy in TFU 50 billion times before he dies, where in MBII, you saber once, they're dead. That's how powerful sabers should be. Jeff likes this Link to comment

Acrobat
I would want it on an ID engine only. Perhaps at this point best to wait for the next one rather than crytek or something like that. Link to comment
Wasa
JKA with TFU force system, But with JKA'S saber combat with included switchable guns would be cool . Link to comment

Discovering the plans for Jk:Ja today would possibly shed new light on the unreal engine and it's possibilites.TFU was released in 2009. So sitting behind a desk at LucasArts thinking about JK:JA would most likely not be about copying TFU, but about creating a better JKO. Link to comment
afi
Why would they make a new Jedi Knight after over 10 years when they could milk the TFU and BF series. A new Jedi Knight would be definitely not an arena shooter anymore, it wouldn't have strafe jumping and not a saber system as we have it in JK2 or JKA. Why? Cause it's way too complicated for today's generation. I saw this happening with Chivalry which is the game with the most in depth melee fighting system since Jedi Knight. 90% of the people who bought that game complain about the more complicated game mechanics and call it bug abuse and glitching. A new Jedi Knight would maybe be a decent singleplayer game but overall I think it would be awful considering what kind of games are popular nowadays. Wasa likes this Link to comment

z3filus
You are both absolutely right. Yet I'd like to remind you all about Serious Sam 3: BFESometimes games are revived without changing them much at all. Link to comment

Yet I'd like to remind you all about Serious Sam 3: BFESometimes games are revived without changing them much at all.Which was made by the same people as older entries in Serious Sam, and was brought on steam by an indie publisher. That's a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison there. Link to comment
afi
We might get a small arena shooter revival thoughUnreal Tournament, Reflex and Toxikk are all games that I'm looking forward to even though they are basically just remakes of Quake and Unreal. And Battlefront 3 might become a cool game as well. Link to comment
