Lokin Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 i am really mad at raven for not putting in 1pv for lightsaber in the game, seriously it should have been added in regardless of dual saber and staff saber problems, im tired of looking at the backside of my character when in lightsaber combat in SP. Also, it doesnt help any bit that all these trueview lightsaber mods dont come with a singleplayer option. >_>
ent Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 There-there, Raven was a bad boy and apologizeshttps://www.dropbox.com/s/1qnu6i003wnucc8/trueview_dismemberment_mblur.mp4 Try mod JA++ for MP to have that. I don't know SP mods that support it. afi, katanamaru and Boothand like this
Boothand Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I did this in JK2 with some camera commands + a slight pk3 modification. I'm sure the same is possible in JKA. In my opinion, a bit easier to follow than true-view. katanamaru likes this
Lokin Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 i will be forever grateful to whoever links me a first person view mod (not the stupid one on jk3files that requires binds and doesnt work with openJK)
Circa Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Binds would be the only way to implement it, as far as I know. Unless you mess around with the autoexec.cfg to make it load automatically. Or maybe you could get someone to copy over the code from JA++ to a new code base of OpenJK.
Artemis Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 There is /cg_fpls in JKA. It's a joke, tho. The camera is literally in the character's head, which means you can kinda see teeth... I've only ever messed with it in 1.00 multiplayer, so no idea if it even exists in SP, JA+ and whatnot. :/
ent Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 @Lokin, I told you in my reply, it's done in the mod JA++, try that mod out.
Serenity937 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I Tried to code this in sp some time ago. I did this through code so the head "Irrelevant of model/size" would not clip with the camera. Check out the Code from here http://www.moddb.com/mods/serenitysabersystems/addons/serenityjedienginesdk
Circa Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 @Lokin, I told you in my reply, it's done in the mod JA++, try that mod out.He wants it for SP though.
Lokin Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 He wants it for SP though.i need it for SP badly. im going thru the series again and im almost halfway thru DF2.
ent Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 He wants it for SP though.Oh, yeah... Sorry.I need to learn reading.
katanamaru Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I use the one that requires binding. It works fine. That's with the animations that will be in the Jedi Knight: Enhanced mod. Onysfx, Bek and Circa like this
ensiform Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Simply put, they didn't do it because its not just an individual player model and many many different saber choices. The way it works in JK2 is because that it's just an extra skin for kyle to render the hand and the saber. McGroose likes this
Lokin Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 sigh i guess no one is capable of putting in a first person view

Both the hilt and the model will be a mess of textures in 1st person mode. therfiles likes this
Lokin Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 so why doesn't someone create a camera trick and remove the head model or something along those lines? whats so bloody difficult about first person view in singleplayer, ive seen it doen so many times in MP mods
ensiform Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Because the single player modding wasn't possible prior to last year and nobody has taken up the initiative to port those mods to SP. Your attitude is not very pleasing. If you want it done, you do it.
katanamaru Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 It is something others are interested in, but is not high on their lists. You may have to use the key bound version in the mean time.

Your attitude is not very pleasing. If you want it done, you do it. I would if i could but i don't know jack anymore and my damn job keeps me from spending any amount of time learning. also, prior to last year with the release of the source, what exactly was preventing singleplayer modding from achieving first person view of the lightsaber?
Dusty Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I don't get why there just can't be a cvar to cause the model textures/surface to just be transparent...
ensiform Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Because that isn't how first person works at all
Lokin Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 so.... has someone posted on how singleplayer does work or are we still in the dark?
therfiles Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I don't get why there just can't be a cvar to cause the model textures/surface to just be transparent... I guess you could make a script that makes the player invisible/visible. Not sure what you are looking for, though. It would just be a floating saber...
Dusty Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 ^Say you made the character model 80-90% transparent, then it would be easy to see in 1st person even if the character model is in the way sometimes. That would be model-independent too.
