JAWSFreelao Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Every time I edit a JPEG, the textures won't show up in Modview. Did I screw up?
Circa Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 You'll need to provide a little more info than that. They don't show up after you edit them, or when you load them initially? Make sure the paths are correct. They must be in a base folder like so: base/models/players/luke/ Also, if you changed the name of the folder of the model you are editing, you must change the paths in the .skin files as well.
mrwonko Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Also, don't save as progressive jpg. And keep the width and height a power of 2, like 256 or 512.
Jeff Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Also make sure they are sized correctly (256 x 256) (512 x 512) etc.

Let's say i changed a Bly to a Captain Rex. The textures (after being edited wwith GIMP) won't show up in Modview. Also, paths are correct. Base/models/players/Rex.
Xycaleth Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I've found Gimp saves jpeg images with progressive loading by default. When the jpeg save dialog box shows up, you can find the option to disable it under the Advanced (or Additional?) options drop down.
Omicron Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Did you refresh the textures in modivew? it's this button circled here: NumberWan likes this
JAWSFreelao Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Yes, I have attempted to refresh the textures several times.

Xycaleth Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Yeah sorry. I meant when you export it I forgot Gimp differentiates the two.
JAWSFreelao Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 I saved them all as JPG, not progressive. Still didn't work/:
Circa Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Upload it and one of us could investigate further if you'd like. JAWSFreelao likes this

Omicron Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Optomized needs to be off as well. Just turn everything off Optimisation doesn't need to be turned off, I have it on on my textures. (No idea what it does though)
eezstreet Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Are you sure that the .skin file points to the correct texture? Does modview warn about missing textures?
JAWSFreelao Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 No, no warning of missing textures. It loads the model, and then it shows up. But the model is all white. No textures.
Circa Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Found the issue. Rename model_default_rex.glm to just model.glm.
JAWSFreelao Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Found the issue. Rename model_default_rex.glm to just model.glm.Still isn't working.
Circa Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Still isn't working. Then you must not have your folder in the base/models/players/ folder. It works fine for me after changing that.
JAWSFreelao Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Is my Rex any good? Are there any suggestions/changes you'd make?
