And its not portable with other stuff that reads pk3s like radiant and q3map2, and probably some other tools. Link to comment

Circa Posted January 25, 2014 Share Posted January 25, 2014 ZIP files don't require a third party application to open on any Windows, Mac, or Linux. RAR, 7zip, or any others do. A lot of non-modders may not have a program to open them, and shouldn't need to give an effort to use a file that we provide. You can submit a RAR file from an external host, but we will convert it to ZIP anyway. Omicron likes this Link to comment
