Single Player Mission Design Part 2: Your First Cutscene
EvanStreblow commented on Linken's tutorial in Mapping
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I was really having a hard time finding any complete documentation on how to do cutscenes!! It is very well put together and detailed. It was an amazing resource for a beginner like me! I thought cutscenes were going to be almost impossibly difficult, but this tutorial gave me exactly what I needed to get started. -
Single Player Mission Design Part 2: Your First Cutscene

Yes, here are my results! I created the cutscene in the tutorial and then created a quick "mission" of sorts. You have to defeat the dark jedi without letting your friend die as well. Then I added a little extra ending cutscene to wrap it all up. I wanted to roll credits (ironically for such a short mission lol) but I couldn't get them to work quite right, haha. Oh well. -

Thank you Zahar for combining the original mods into a single one and making an easy and convenient way to play through the story! I almost certainly would've never found or gotten to play this mod otherwise, so I'm glad you gave this mod another chance in the spotlight! I really appreciated not only the improvements, but how detailed you were in letting the users know what was changed, what the original was like, and the options to remove the changes! I never felt in the dark about what was changed. As for the game, Larry McBruce did a great job telling a new story and really had excellent levels. I really enjoyed the cutscenes and the gameplay. The level design was beautiful too. Overall, absolutely worth a play and I can see why this mod series was popular back in the day!

Get Player to Show Up in Custom Cutscenes
EvanStreblow replied to EvanStreblow's topic in Modding Assistance
Huh. That makes sense. I am making a mod for Jedi Academy, and in my project settings it says Jedi Knight Jedi Academy is the mod I have selected and Single Player mapping mode is the map mode I have selected... Could I need to update GTKRadiant or something? EDIT: I could not tell you why this happened, but I reverted to a backup of my .map file and restarted GTKRadiant, and the NPC_Player preset appeared in the list. I have no idea how that works. In a pinch, I also figured out that you can just use the NPC_spawner preset and change the classname key value to "NPC_Player" and check the cinematic box. Super weird. Thanks for all the help everyone. -
Get Player to Show Up in Custom Cutscenes

I was thinking it'd be that, but it doesn't seem to be on my NPC list in Radiant when I try to create a new NPC... Do you know why that'd be? (Or is there some way to take a Jedi NPC and make it function like a player NPC instead?) -
Hello, I realize this is probably an incredibly basic question, but how do you get the player to show up in a cutscene you have created? I know that cutscenes automatically turn the player invisible, so how do you get a player NPC in the cutscene that you can work with? Does anyone know the answer? (Or can link me to a tutorial that explains it?) Thanks!

OpenJediProject V1.2 Fixed by FJA - Server-Side - JKHub I recently downloaded this mod and am hoping to play its Co-op mode with others. That seems to work fine. However, I do not want to learn the new Enhanced lightsaber system. Does anybody know if there is a way to play the Co-op game mode with the vanilla JKA lightsaber system? I just want to play with the default multiplayer mechanics, not with the fancy new Open Jedi Project lightsaber system.

One puzzle in particular was really hard just to find anything to interact with, so it was hard to progress at that point. (I had to look it up.) Other than that, amazing scenery and set! I loved the little story it gave and the cutscenes were great. I liked the ending a lot too. Satisfying to fight jedi and play as a villian for once. Very well done! Worth a play!

Hello! I am extremely new to making custom singleplayer maps in GTKRadiant for Jedi Academy. So excuse me if this is really easy, but I can't seem to find anything online about how you would do this. Basically, I am messing around creating a test singleplayer map and I want to automatically run a few cheat codes (or do the equivalent) right when the map loads up and is ready to play. Here is what I want: setforceall 1 playermodel stormtrooper playerteam enemy So the player starts out as a stormtrooper, with a few force powers (instead of the default none) and on the enemy's team. Does anyone know how I would do that? (Or edit these stats for the map in GTKRadiant?) Thanks!
