Fun Fact: Because of the violence, Soldier of Fortune 2 was banned in Germany, but a heavily censored version was released instead.

The best part: Every single character was turned into a robot, simply by applying metallic or grey textures and robot-like animations on the models.

And to give some sort of explaination to this mess, the entire plot was "moved" into another dimension. This was done by merely adding an opening text, exclusively for the censored version, which explains that in

another dimension, humans were wiped out by robots. After a while, the robots based their daily lifes on the humans, which explains why the robots all behave like people. The plot of the censored version remains identical to the uncensored version.

When it comes to censorship, Germany takes the cake. There are lots of censored and banned games to choose from. Even Star Wars: Dark Forces is banned to this day, because of it's resemblance to games like Doom.

But it's available on Steam, though. In the recent years, the federal agencies mellowed down by a great amount, which means that even risky games can be released without any problems.

Yeah I think Australia only got the platinum version well I think? Cause it had parental control option when u install

  2. I especially agree with this. It's basically the only thing that made me play CS for soon to be 800 hours - I love seeing my skills and rank progress. It really pushes you to get better and better. If I remember right, there actually was some kind of leaderboard on the net for JKA duels back in the 2000's?

Yeah blademod, i was thinking of making a replica of it but haven't started yet

  3. Is it possible to get this code to work in Jedi Outcast? I've been porting a bunch of stuff over to JK2 for a better graphical experience with vanilla gameplay but this seems to be the one thing i can't do. I Loaded up JK2enhanced to see how they did it but based on what i'm seeing with sfxsabers enabled, they weren't able to get it to work (atleast, not in the alpha build that's available). I tried compiling this code for JK2, and while openJK works just fine, the code seems to have no affect. There's probably code differences between the two games i'm unaware of, though what makes this more confusing is SFX code isn't even native to JKA, so what is it in JKA that allows SFX code to work that isn't present in the JK2sp OpenJKA code? Is it even possible to get this to work in Jedi Outcast or is that a lost cause(i'm trying to get this to work in SP, and am compiling for SP, to clarify)?

I thought it was already apart of JK2Enhanced? Check out the sub-forum, eezstreet had a post about it

  4. Haha. My film group took a Jedi Academy model into outcast once... It was an Anakin variant of some kind, but he ended up bent around like a pretzel in the most horrifying shapes.

lol i use to do that too, looking like aboinations lmfao, love that jk2mv fixed that

  5. My clan does an instagib event every month or two, which is open to anyone that wishes to join. I could post here next time we do one.

We switch to the Instagib IV mod, which only supports disruptors and CTF mode. Would love to have someone make a simple mod like that but also includes options for any weapon and gametype of choice, like I think other mods like jaPro do. I'd rather not mess with big mods like ja+ and japro when I only want this one feature for one event.

We should work on it :P
