  1. The surge in ports lately is ruining my experience here. Can we give stuff with ported material a section I can avoid?

  2. Sculpting here and there in between stuff. Trying to get the shadows and stuff just right no eyelids so hes very surprised
  3. Just finished the TIE Facility throwables... am now moving on to finishing up its map objects Disregard the ear obviously. I have one already done I can just clip over. Oh, btw... this is on a 4096 texture 0_0 but its not just a head, its his entire body so I can sculpt his chest and stuff and his shirtless skins wont have seams and will flow nicely. Ill extract his head and make it separate as well and have lower res textures, but for now Ill be sculpting his torso arms and head on one texture map
  4. Why does it not say anywhere that this is a ported head ripped from TFU? You shoul probably mention that.
  5. How do map texture LODs work? Are there any?

      Omg my bad. Yes. This. So is there a certain map distance that the textures start breaking down into lower res? Is it considered to be handled correctly by jka's engine?

      I would like to know because Im trying to work with nice high res textures for pretty much the whole mod, but I would like them to scale down correctly for fps

  7. Made map objects all day... playing with this to change it up a bit. Still just splotches right now... trying to fine tune a witwer instead of a sk
  8. This might sound preposterous but why cant q3map take normals and displacements into consideration when compiling lightmaps on bsp's?

      No, the ModView source was given out with the source release.

      You might have missed it but at one time ModView was being worked on so that it could display all the 3d model types for this game. I think whoever was playing with that gave up though.

      Ive been deep into modeling something at like 3am... and looked around and was like... wait... wtf am i building?

  14. Practicing painting. My first go at it with this model. Here are some pics in textured decal mode so no shadows or anything heres with shadows heres what I got so far painting it. which is all just nonsense right now because I plan on going over it a few times. He looks all cartoony and stuff right now

  17. Jesus man lol So if I sculpt in his belts instead, is there even any support for displacement maps? If not, ill want to model in a bit more. @@AshuraDX @@eezstreet any disp map support?
  18. I didnt notice that was kobras (didnt click on it). Now that I have, and now that I have a bit more experience in modeling and animation, I can safely look back at that and do not want. No offense to HK I mean when I first saw this I gazmed years back. But I mean come on... Strap a belt to your chest or hip... there is no depth to the belt, no girth lol. In fact, it hugs your contours so closely, that the original TFU model upsets me. There is so much depth to all of his belts that it looks clunky to me and I cant even fathom the deformation issues in animating it. I say that a lot of the geometry (17000+ tris) on the original model shouldve been sculpted? Its one of the many things that trouble me about the model and why I say Ill have a different version, but it should look cool.

  20. I rebut your claim of bullshit, as I am looking at the model right now. It would take me literally days to fix this. Looking at the model, the head and armor can be refurbished, the rest is garbage in jka
  21. Looks like I might actually voice some of the SK phrases I need. I been practicing, it sounds good man, I wouldnt bs. Ill most likely be doing Kazdan's voice as well. I would LOVE to have a proxy though =( Droids #1 and #2 I think @@therfiles said he wanted to voice one, cant remember the other. Thats relly all the voices we need. Maybe some Kota's militia reactions and taunts. New sounds for troopers? Please dont post a bunch of soundbytes and stuff, we need original stuff for this. I might keep "stop that jaden" for the ertor sounds in the menu lmfao but besides that id like to see what we can come up with. Any ideas or applicants? Also... when I get hit by something... I go "ahw fuck!". Id like real reactions to pain, but I dont see much swearing in Star Wars... Thoughts?
  22. @@Seven wasnt trying to get snappy, it looks snappy at secong glance, but i had assumed youd been following the thread. What program do you use? Maybe we can collab on some things. Can you rig or model?
  23. I did... but also...its the "actual head" is morelike it... its Manny Llamas version of Sam Witwers head. Which indeed I will be using as a reference to sculpt and produce Chalks version of Sam Witwers head. retopo Since this thread. Is 46 pages long, its easy to overlook stuff. I.e. i mentioned my disliking of the TFU model's Sam Witwer head... I wanted to make it look more like the actor in my finished version. Show me one pic of SK from TFU that looks like Witwer... Im going for this Not this
