  1. Not Machinima as in the site, but like a movie that's made out of gameplay footage. Two different things there. I'm not dissing it though, I'm stating a legitimate concern here, that you're not focusing enough on gameplay and stuff that's actually...game-like. Let me ask you this. What makes you want to make a mod? Why do you want to make one?
  2. No it wasn't. Let's look at Jedi Outcast: Kejim Post: Infiltrate the Remnant outpost. Kejim Base: Exit the base, and learn more about the experiments. Artus Mine: Infiltrate the mining base. Artus Detention: Free the prisoners. Artus Topside: Secure the prisoners and prepare for evacuation. Yavin Temple: Talk to Luke. Yavin Trial: Complete the trial and retrieve your lightsaber. NS Streets: Find and enter Reelo's hideout. NS Hideout: Find Reelo. NS Starpad: Disable the tractor beams, blast doors and moorings to the ship. Pump fuel to the ship. Escort Lando and defeat Reelo. Bespin Undercity: Make your way to the streets. Bespin Streets: Find Desann and clean up the streets. Bespin Platform: Find Desann. Defeat Tavion. Cairn Bay: Find a way out of the hangar bays. Cairn Assembly: Find the Doomgiver. Cairn Reactor: Find the Doomgiver. Cairn Docks: Sneak onto the Doomgiver. Doomgiver Communication Array: Contact Rogue Squadron in order to get them to blow up the ship. Doomgiver Detention: Free Jan. Doomgiver Shields: Disable the shields so Rogue Squadron can blow up the ship. Escape the Doomgiver. Yavin Swamp: Find the Jedi Academy. Yavin Canyon: Find the Jedi Academy. Yavin Courtyard: Defend the Jedi and hunt for Desann. Yavin Final: Kill Desann. As you can see, there's actual bullet-point objectives that involve more than just killing people (for the most part). In fact, most of the game can be gone through completely with notarget on and never killing anyone.. That's not the point though. The point I'm trying to make here is that you haven't thought of this like a game. What you're designing is a game, so obviously you need to take into account your game play. In fact, that should be the number one focus if you're making a game. You've talked mostly about skis, skins, skins, and voice acting, when you should be focusing on levels, levels, code, scripts, and skins. In my opinion, you should make a machinima with custom made models, backdrops, etc. It's going to be a heck of a lot easier to do that.
  3. So basically the game can be summarized by "kill battle droids"? Great.
  4. So, my question is whether Raz will actually go through with it.
  5. Can't you convert GLM to MD3 via ModView?
  6. How many missions will there be? What objectives will you complete in each mission? How will you complete them?
  7. I really think you'd probably benefit from something like a screenplay/machinima instead of a fully-fledged mod. I haven't seen anything here that even hints at mission/level structure, and instead it's mostly story-based stuff. I really hate using video games as a medium to convey a story and nothing else, I really do. It makes for boring games in my opinion, and it has to complement the game instead of being the core focus.
  8. I like the subtle implication there that you find him without merit simply because he hasn't been on this site. Anyway, this argument is stupid. I suggest migrating back to the original topic, please.
  9. I think he already did, at one point.
  10. You're tempting me to code for this with that "2.5D" camera. Stop it. Stop it right now.
  11. I'd recommend making an issue for it on Github so that they are aware of it.
  12. Crashes at what point in the load sequence. Maybe try inquiring around #JACoders and see if someone can determine why it's crashing.
  13. MAYBE YOU SHOULD CUT DOWN THAT TREE AND MAKE A BRIDGE
  14. I can't say I totally agree with the Straight Edge lifestyle, but I applaud you for your discipline. As Circa said, the All-Seeing Eye is good for finding servers, especially since there's lots of filter options for different mods.
  15. You should give us some insight into your level design. Aside from the niche concept, you aren't designing a game here, which is what you should be doing. What game play concepts do you have in mind? What is the mission structure like?
  16. @@hka1894 W-w-what? Luke is getting trained by some random unknown? Same with Kyle? I find this hard to believe, especially since Kyle's beard can split in half, revealing a Merr Sonn Scatter Missile Launcher. Find me someone that can top that, plz.
  17. See: The Force Unleashed/Clone Wars/Prequels. Despite these being utter crap, still tons of people want stuff for them (for some reason).
  18. Why so low expectations of Disney? Surely they could do better than the prequels.. Probably mapping/level design is going to be the limiting factor here.
  19. I suppose I could eventually port over the effects of JK2 Uncut as a jagamex86 designed for OpenJK use.

    JO/JA coop

No, it really won't. As I recap only very few updates got pushed to coop. It should be just a simple pull from master.

  22. I'm curious as to what this guy is from.
  23. Put a cushion brush at the bottom.
  24. 2.5D is an illusion of 3 dimensions using 2 dimensional objects ie images/animations What you've described is just side-scrolling using a 3D engine. Nothing really 2.5D about it. Good examples of 2.5D games: Age of Empires 1/2, Starcraft, Fallout, ...
  25. Yep, I figured as much. Though I'm really wondering if that's entirely true, given that new games by EA even are getting their auth services shut down within a year or two.
