There's some goofy shading on the middle pic that might indicate some awkward topology. You might want to look at that and see if it needs clean up before mapping.

Thought I'd show oyu guys what DVG94 and I've been working on :
The creatures game is a sorta Minecraft themed mod based at a series of LP's
currently we're just a 2-men crew
I'm making all the models and their animations
while DVG is working at the maps , scripts and gfx

buying 3ds max wont help the newer versions dont support the required plug-ins anymore, I luckily found a trial of max 5 which is running pretty good on my XP VM
and I simply delete my vm and set it back up everytime the 30 days are over
that's the way I do it
if you want to use 3ds max for modeling though you can get it here (legal and for free) http://students.autodesk.com/
