Bek Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Hey guys I was wondering if you could apply some scratch durasteel textures. I'll be submitting the model for my school's science fair, and whoever makes and applies the textures will get tons of credit! I basically made one of the remote droids that was in the Phantom Menace in Blender. *Edit: reference. Here's the model: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6SNmRAqpEKrd3o1WnlUWm9WT2M/view?usp=sharing I really really need this as soon as possible because the science fair is in a week.

Bek Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Any help will be awesome. Though because I don't like copying people's work I made my droid look less like his version, while working on mine.
Psyk0Sith Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 You should export it to .obj because it's an universal format and will target a wider audience Bek likes this

Futuza Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 So you say you made one...like a real floating one or like a computer model?
Bek Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 A computer model of one, if it was a real floating one then I would for sure go to first place in the science fair. And begin my Jedi training. Here's the .obj file for whoever wants to texture it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6SNmRAqpEKrT1ZOVzJ5a3F0VGc/view?usp=sharing
Psyk0Sith Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 @@BekWell there's no uv's and some meshes need to be fixed, but i'll see what i can do. Also by modeling/posing it at a messed up angle it messes up the option to mirror and get stuff done quicker. What kind of engine or render are you aiming for? Hand textured for a game or rendered in a 3D app? (ie blender)
Bek Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Thank You so much @@Psyk0Sith!! Ideally I'd like to have it made for Jka, but I was going to just animate it in Blender (with Cycles render).
Psyk0Sith Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Alright but that polycount is not JKA friendly at all.
Bek Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Would it end up just crashing jka? I wouldn't mind if there was some lag.
Psyk0Sith Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Well i'm not exporting it to JA, maybe someone else will feel like optimizing it, but the current polycount is around 30-40k if i'm not mistaken. The highest i've ever done for a player model was 9k. Bek likes this
Bek Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) Woah that's a lot, well I wasn't expecting it to get to jka anyway , I kinda got the feeling the poly count would be too high. Oh and I wasn't asking you to put it into jka for me, just wanted your opinion on it. Edited February 5, 2015 by Bek

Psyk0Sith Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Will do once i get a few things out of the way.
