Some mapping textures I'm working on

Recommended Posts

Here are some textures I'm working on. They can be applied to a lot of stuff, especially if you're into terrain and perhaps some out of the JK-tradition textures.

They are all made from pictures I've taken with my camera + very many hours of optimizing.

Would appreciate feedback a lot! I have included a link to a picture of how they tile.

Spent so many hours on this one, getting each stone to overlap from a quite difficult source picture, but its uses aren't really... many!

Being able to create a texture and understanding the way it works - is a big advantage. I really like the textures I see above. Making some of them a seamless one is also hard work. I am making a lot of textures for our project, currently my goal are the terrain textures for Dantooine. :) So I might ask some advice later.

I'd love to give some advice. Maybe I could even write a tutorial on the matter. Covering up the seams themselves is usually the easiest job. The real challenge is to make it look good from a distance while not destroying it up-close. So it has a lot to do with variation in brightness and color. I'll definitely write a tutorial if there's interest (and if so - what kind of texture could it be demonstrated with?).
