Fixing Cutscenes for Widescreen

(Dunno if I should've necro'd this thread or created a new one, so... I created a new one. Having read the rules, it doesn't seem like I should give a damn.)

 

In both JO & JA, the top and bottom of the cutscenes get cut when playing in widescreen (16:9 in my case). Isn't it possible to fix that by making it display the cutscenes in full height while increasing horizontal FOV? Or are cutscene-exclusive maps not suited for displaying moar than they should? I'd also like to put 1080p JO & JA cutscenes on YouTube, and right now it's kinda inappropriate when heads get cut in half.

I always just have my monitor aspect ratio set on auto, and run JKA in non-widescreen. Would be nice to have full support for widescreen in OpenJK at some point. :P

↑ :blink: Exactly what I want (though I'd like to see a 1920x1080 variant, as the one above is 1440x900). I'm now not even sure if it's Mac-exclusive or I'm doing something wrong (on Windows 7)..

cg_fov 95 // Increasing this has no effect on cutscenes.

No. How do I even launch JK2 SP with OpenJK? I got the retail version. It shows no text in the main menu and I'm unable to start the story mode.

 

Setting FOV doesn't change anything for JA (OpenJK) cutscenes, though.
