That looks gorgeous!!

The model looks like it's just oriented incorrectly, rotating it around should help. Pretty sure there are some gun tutorials out there to help with this, pehaps on Inyri's site.
I'll see if I can do it myself after dinner. I haven't done any real modeling so I'll have to figure out how to use XSI but it shouldn't be too hard.

I'd love to see the TFU animation for force push and force lightning. There was one for push but as I remember none of my friends could get it to work, and neither could I.
-
Seems I need to have some sort of modeling program and some knowledge of tags and such to get this working... can someone else give this a shot and see if it works to replace the blaster model? If it works I may do some work on the texture.
-
I opened it in ModView, not MD3View, if that's the issue.
That's what I tried, no luck. I'll figure it out... once I finish TFU:USE, hehe.
-
They could use some work, but it still looks great. Dunno why I couldn't get it to render... everything looks right to me.
-
Try to replace the blaster_pistol and try it ingame.
I will once I figure out how. There's also some weird thing where there's a folder called DC-17, and I can open that in ModView (textures don't load though) and it seems to be a model of the DC-15... this could get complicated.

Agreed.

I get the same error, no idea why though.

Is time to up the ante, let him do his homework. There's always time to cut down the polygon count and with Softimage it's easy and he doesn't even have to do more than collapsing edges, the UV and envelopes are kept intact.
He knows what he's doing, rest assured.

Very cool man. Can't wait to see how this beauty turns out.

Yes, but I'm looking for these to be standalone mods. Any tips on how to make that possible? I'd rather not just copy/paste from the MBII assets either.
-
I'd be lying if I said I could tell the difference between this one and the last screenshots you posted, but it looks great.
-
Also, I had no idea PSDs could get so big. The cairn/twall3 texture's PSD is 109 MB...
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle, that's massive.
-
That would be insanely awesome. It'd also be really neat as a backpack of some kind... maybe even as a jetpack replacement (take away the flames too of course).
-
I agree about the head being too narrow. Other than that it looks solid man. Again, I'm no modeler but it looks great. I've got the game if you need more reference shots, but I'm sure you probably have it.

It sucks, I'm just starting to get into texture making and it's going well but I'm the same as eezstreet, I have way too much going on this summer and frankly my skills aren't up to par yet.

I suppose one could put in a hacky fix, but it's quite low priority really. It really isn't completely feasible without changing the .menu file.
Fair enough. Thanks man.

Looks great so far @@minilogoguy18. Can't wait to see this fully realized in-game, always been a favorite vehicle of mine... not to mention I have a soft spot for the Phantom Menace game, heh.

Known issue, no real workaround or fix for it due to the way they set up the menus.
Can we hope for an OpenJK fix in the future? Understanding of course that it would be very low on the priority list.

So I managed to get it working... dunno how, I used the same method as always but now it's working. Thanks for all your help. I did want to ask if anyone could explain another small issue... the music in the JAMP menu - even using the base music - always starts from the beginning again if I go to another menu and then go back to the main menu. For example, I load up the game and the music starts playing at the main menu. I click "Play" and then click "Back" to take me back to the main menu and the music starts again from the beginning. Any way to fix this? This may be a better questions for @@eezstreet...

I have to say I admire your commitment to detail and perfection. I thought the previous version looked fantastic and ready for release, but the fact that you're starting over on the texture work just to get it that much better is very impressive.

That last new texture you made is great, but it's backwards man.
Also, can I ask if you actually looked up the translation of the Aurebesh words on the old texture? I noticed you did different ones so I was curious if you wrote something but too lazy to actually translate it myself, heh.

Try loading it up in MBII just to see if it works. Any mission where you're a Republic Command or Clone should work.
