I must say, the number of female hairstyle tutorials (real hair-- not 3ds Max!) that I've watched on youTube keeps growing... but it gives me ideas and helps me to see how the polygons should flow. Like these for example... Anyone know the song that was playing on the one above? Kind of a catchy tune... I think I will try to model the look of this last one shown-- the blonde pull-through braid. Edit: found the song-- "Won't let this moment pass us by" by Benji Jackson

Yes of course... this Hi-Def model would be used to bake normal maps onto a lower resolution mesh. I have to take this hi-poly model into 3D-Coat and retopologize for lower LODs. I'll be posting those updates as well.

@@eezstreet-- are you referring to the mussy ponytail? Or did one of the reference images confuse you? I suppose that could be the hair-style used for the prison outfit. I can also make a clean ponytail... There were a few hairstyles we discussed. P.S.- Quotes and multi-quotes don't appear to work on this site for Windows8.1 and IE11.

@@Cerez -- How do we know if she has her teeth together in that photo (...teeth apart but lips still together elongating the chin-- you can lower your jaw quite a lot and keep your lips together)? We don't... I based the model on this front view picture... So I think it fits her proportions well... I also compare it to an iso reference image here: I suppose I could go thru the "Golden Ratio" math-- but I just don't have the energy. On another note I watched a hair tutorial where the artist used a gradient ramp to help them align the hair to the flow of the UV templates like so:

Here's an update on the current status of the ponytail hairstyle... Below is a comparison to Mandy Amano with a similar hairstyle (I need to scale up the ponytail-- it's too small currently): ...it's taking me a lot longer than I expected-- what else is new.

So with the version 1.9 dotXSI 3.0 exporters out for beta testing... I'm getting back to Jan Ors... I worked on refining the lips-- the changes are subtle, but IMO better. My goal is to have the first hairstyle finished this weekend... and start the process of learning how to re-topologize in 3D-Coat.

She looks like she has "cankles" because you textured her bare calves over the boots... grab some bare legs from a stock female and remake some hi-top ankle shoes like she wore in the movies.

Can you not have a Ghoul2 weapon model? If it were a Ghoul2 file then you can animate parts of the gun, correct?

Perhaps @@mrwonko knows... but I'm guessing a character channel can only play one sound file at a time... not multiple? -

I think all the sounds haves to be mixed down into a single audio file if you want them all to play on a single channel-- just guessing. -

Does HK-47 have any motorized joint movement sounds? I'd just use those if they exist. -
you said, "But I can just export it back to 3ds Max..." be careful going back and forth between 3ds Max and Softimage... if you are using Crosswalk-- it doesn't transform the model correctly... basically it just rotates the scene root node 90 degrees about the x-axis... rather than do a true coordinate system transformation (as the v1.9 dotXSI exporter does... I explain this in more detail in my readme file). Other-- I vote Bothan.

You should make the collapsible stock animate and actually fold hold and hold like a rifle into shoulder for more accurate aiming, single-shot mode of fire.

If you look at the character animations in ModView for Kyle... you see all those FACE_TALK animations have the body in a DaVinci T-Pose... I've never done what you are doing... but I would suggest try adding an animation to the TORSO... or figure out how to have those FACE_TALK animations affect only the face bones. @@DT85 -- any suggestions?
