    Hmm... in light of my new findings, The Force Awakens is actually not a bad movie at all. Sure it's not OT, but it's not that far off. It will all come together in the sequel this year. The problem was that they kept the first installment way too hush-hush in the series, afraid to give away any plot points at all. The story is actually not that bad.

      The amount of films where people are believed to be are dead but they turn out to still be alive is...immeasurable. /Krennic

       

      That's why it's considered a trope in films that unless you see the body, nobody is ever really dead. Hardly unique to TFA.

    I'm announcing, privately, that I think finishing (HS's and IB's) Leia Organa will be my last JKHub modding project. Despite its popularity, Star Wars has devolved from space opera to soap opera (in my eyes) over the last couple of years, and it has lost me. I will be turning my focus away from Star Wars, and onto my own personal projects.

      You're free to your own opinion of course, but declaring anyone who has a different one is "less worthy" as a result is a bit much don't you think? Let's not forget, we're all Star Wars fans, but at the end of the day it's just a film.

       

      I happened to enjoy it. You didn't. It is what it is. There's still plenty of Star Wars out there to enjoy!

      Interesting, I felt TFA felt like a rather empty galaxy overall. Jakku being a world of recycled Tatooine propes, Maz's knock-off cantina, etc.

       

      With Rogue One, I felt they got the balance right. There were more thematic links with the OT (which, unlike with TFA, makes sense since it literally ends 10 minutes before the OT rather 30 years later) yet it still managed to introduce new and distinct worlds - e.g. like Jakku, Jedha is a desert world yet looks and feels distinct from...

      I would say the thing I took away from it most was the message that the Rebellion is more than our band of favourites - as well as Luke, Leia and Han, the fight against the Empire is being fought by many others for a whole host of reasons, and some of them (most of them) end up paying the ultimate price as their contribution to the overall goal of saving the galaxy from evil.

       

      This fight was taking place long before Luke every picked up his father's l...
