  1. This issue is back, working on finding a fix for JKH.

Basically, by setting that timeout I mentioned above to 300 seconds, I opened up a hole in JKHub's DDoS protection to allow big file uploads. I've already known about that for quite some time, but until now, nobody found it and made any serious DDoS attempts with that specific attack.

I've set the timeout way back (from 300 to 20 seconds) and JKH is once again fully protected from any DDoS now, but until I find a workaround, big file uploads will be problematic for a couple of days.

:o Don't want to give the monkeys any loopholes to work with!?

  2. After switching back to my old 8800GTS (Which has played JKA for a long time...) I still have the same problem. Is there anything I can do?

EDIT - Using openJK seems to have fixed the problem :D

Just to add for future references; if anyone is experiencing issues with JKA (ie: Crashing), using OpenJK will fix the issue 99.9% of the time.

  3. I don't get why clan kids bring this crap to modding sites, most people who mod aren't even active in the online community to even know wtf you're even talking about. O_O

or rarely play it because of garbage players like our friends at Polaris

I ran into the same issue when I had the blog running. Small time and big time clans were pushing for attention regarding the smallest of chickenshit possible

  4. Guys, all they are doing is letting us know that EFF is being impersonated. There's nothing wrong with that at all.

Let's all be a little more welcoming, shall we? Clans are a huge part of this community, no need to drive them out when they actually post something.

Fair enough, but in all honesty; impersonations happens all the time in JKA. Giving it attention to the point that's beyond just the simple "I have an impostor" post kinda gets annoying.

  5. To put it in perspective, here's an metaphor.

You are in art class, and get a canvas from your teacher. He states that your brush and paint would work best on that type of canvas, so you start working on it.

Your fellow students also got a canvas from your teacher, with the same message.

The teacher tells you and the students he will be very busy the next few months, and will not attend the classes.

You and the other students decide to learn from each other. You practice and with shared knowledge you all are able to complete a few masterpieces.

Then, after a few months your teacher comes back claims these paintings as his own, puts his signature under the paintings he likes best, and puts them on the internet so he can sell them for a large sum.

Exact same thing is going on with EFF, but with a far greater timespan ;)

    Anyway, you get the point.

Apophis only gave the community a foundation, that the council, and all other members has built on it.

He is now claiming everything as only his own, while we made the clan ours.

90 percent of EFF is currently the system that was build by all members. The 10 percent was built by the people from 4 years ago, 4 percent of that made up by Apophis.

It is indeed a matter of perspective, and you could say we betrayed him.

But if so, isn't it justified, because we are simply protecting the thing that we all have worked very hard on for years?

This website is for the development of mods and general JKA discussion that does not involve clan nonsense. This is clan nonsense.

  6. lol, the entire ja+ community rages over laming, lol.

we R chuckling that the jawa admins and the council let it happen.

the lag glitch lame is very visible, lol

    Lag glitch lame....what?

So....this is basically what I'm seeing right now; Polaris, a clan in which 100% of their members (which I should add only includes 10 or so members) tend to make a big fuss over the smallest things is now complaining because they broke a rule on a server and they were punished?

Why the fuck are you bringing this to us? We could care less for your mental shortcomings, or the procedures that occur on a JA+ server, particularly JAWA; which your clan seems to have a hissy fit over constantly because you and the rest of your clan wishes to not fully follow their rules.

Take this garbage elsewhere, particularly back to your semi-abandoned website.

  7. I wouldn't mind applying for admin for an official JKHub server. The question I like to raise is what mod would we run? JA+? JA++? Base? Lugormod?

I mean, I'm pretty sure JA+ or JA++ would be the obvious answer for the numerous security reason, though I wonder if we could have multiple servers running multiple mods :o

  8. Do you have forced settings, such as forced AA (doesn't look like it) or forced multitexturing? Disabling such settings might help you out. I think you use an Intel HD card, yes? These have really poor support for older games unfortunately.

As a matter of fact, Legacy forces AA and multitexturing. I'll see if turning them off completely will fix it.

AA was the issue, unfortunately, I can't turn it off. The game forces it no matter what you do. Therefore the game is unplayable on my graphics card :P

  9. What's this? A tech problem post that isn't about JKA?

Ok, so another one of my older games decided to break, and this time I have no clue what the issue is. The game is Star Trek: Legacy (yes, how can I like such a game when Bridge Commander is obviously better). However, when I installed the game and ran it, I came across this problem

The texture for the ship was black, except for the lights and warp effect. This didn't just affect the ships but also space stations, weapons textures, pretty much any texture besides planets.

The only mod I'm running is the Ultimate Universe mod, and this bug was still present in both the vanilla Legacy and the UU Legacy.

    I've tried fooling around with the settings and nothing has fixed this problem. Tried setting it under a different compatibility mode and that fixed nothing. I'm probably taking a big leap in asking here but meh, I'll give it a shot;

What's causing this? And if possible, how can I fix it?

I would greatly appreciate any help!
