If your GPU is newer than 8 years old then it will be able to do dynamic glow without any problems whatsoever. What GPU do you have?
It lags on my GeForce 710m. Certainly not the best card out there, but dynamic glow seems to eat way more FPS than it should.

I got the solution. Gametracker can't make a difference between Outcast and Academy. Outcast is Protocol #15 and 16 (patch 1.02 and 1.04), Academy Protocol #25 and 26. So I was trying to connect to an Academy Server.
What tool do you guys use to find servers? Im not very happy with that Gametracker at all.
Ravensoft (Default) masterserver, and JKHub masterserver. You can get the JKHub masterserver by either downloading OpenJK, or some other separate mod on the site which I do not remember the name of.

Movie Battles are basically dead. No plans for the future, just upgrading the current mod for an old game that is losing players. That spin-off isn't Star Wars.

TCW has magic, zombies, Force users hundreds of times more powerful than anything we will ever see in the movies (talking about the light/dark/their father thing), alive Maul, magic world of ghosts (Yoda sequence), etc. You can point out any good thing about TCW and it still won't beat all that crap it introduced.
So?
They need to make new content, and there's nothing bad about the things you mentioned. Well, Maul being alive maybe isn't the best idea and is pretty cheesy, as well as the powerful force users, but there's nothing wrong with the other things.
-
The guys responsible for it have already been contacted. Probably sorting things out on their end.
It's run by Activision in conjunction with Ravensoft
I'm amazed they still bother running it.

Compared to what it used to be, it's a tiny population. Depending on the time of day, and the day itself, you'll find some fairly populated servers.
So yes, it's worth getting for $10. Though you could wait for a sale and get it for $5, which would be around Christmas probably.
There's players 24/7 but the population of course varies and is sometimes thin. Just saying this because you made it sound like there's people only on specific times ;d

It only happens when my laptop is warmed up (AND running CPU intensive programs, even if my laptop is hot right after exiting a game, the key works normally again), and does not happen on other keyboards. Also, unless my computer is completely cold, the down arrow key doesn't work but I didn't bother with that one because I never used it anyways. I would use the plug-in keyboard, but I simply do not have enough place for it on my desk.
Shitty acer keyboards.

So, I've got a pretty big problem. If I'm running a game, compressing a file or doing anything CPU-intensive, the 6 key keeps spamming itself. It makes chatting in-game impossible, and I can't do anything on the internet when doing something else. Any ideas?

The Thing and Bram Stroker's Dracula.
I don't find The Thing to be too scary, but it is still a very enjoyable movie.

Seems good.. I like the fact that you can ignore the modern app stuff, unlike in 8.
So far, so good. Although Windows 8 didn't seem so bad at first either (Well, it's not bad at all, but Metro.. oh god) so I am suspicious. Also, there's the whole trend going on since 95 where every second OS is shitty, so I hope they won't break it with 10.

Some people will say the bass is too loud but IMO I think it's mixed perfectly - not too loud and not too silent. You hear it well but it does in no way overpower the guitars, just as it should be.

Well, Wookieepedia says that Jaden carried a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol along with his lightsaber, and would occasionally use other kinds of weaponry (likely picked up during missions).
Not sure about Kyle, though. Did he still carry his Bryar pistol during the events of JO (once he re-obtained his lightsaber) and JA?
IMO the amount of guns the player can carry should be limited, and visible on the body at all times (as opposed to being hidden in "inventory"). Some guns (like FC-1 flechette launcher) should only be available to be carried in hands and dropped on the ground upon weapon change.
I would actually love to see a "canon" edition (perhaps something controlled via CVAR?) of JA, with correct Jaden's appearance, saber hilts/colors, etc.
Yes, Kyle continued using his Bryar.

You could probably at least make it server-side optional for now? I don't think we intend to fix it any differently for base game-code.
People do this all the time when trolling on plenty of other non-MB2 servers too which are not patched.
People troll just as much with torso freeze removed in MB2 at least, so it's not a valid reason at all

The hugging is a bug too
The fix long pre-dates OpenJK and is part of the mod code of course. It came from LucasForums bugfixes post (most of which were part of added to OpenJK via modbase merge)
It's a bug, but it's harmless and it was a part of MB2. People did this all the time, when not playing srs matches or stuff like that.

There's a big demand for bringing torso freeze back in MB2 (and lots of drama), and the only thing that is holding it back is the fact that blocking Primary/Secondary fire while pressing USE_HELD_ITEM is not a perfect solution. It has a delay and players won't be able to shoot for less than a second after pressing use item. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but in the rare event someone jumps out and you need to shoot, it could get you killed.
Is there any better fix for this bug?
-
Insta kata. I think torso freeze to the extent you're speaking of may be MB2-specific. USE_HELD_ITEM is blocked for sure though with +attack and +altattack
Oh, okay then. Torso freeze is the same in basejka as it was in MB2 btw.
-
I'd also like to point out that this was fixed in OpenJK, so the fix for it should be public. You'd have to dig through the commits to see how they did it.
What was fixed in OpenJK? Torso Freeze or Insta kata?
-
Yes, completely. Has nothing to do with the main instigator of all the drama regarding removal of the torso freeze not attending a test session for 2 months prior to release to even voice his concerns while he was on the beta team. 60% of beta testers thought the removal was needed, which is why it was removed. We listened to the majority. It has nothing to do with the fact that torso freeze is a BUG that allows you to bypass animations to instantly kata/grapple or do other things to players without their knowledge. Several of us have already stated and even voted on your threads saying that we would be okay with torso freeze returning as a gesture, or when we remove the ability to bypass animations with it. Several of us stated it was a TEMPORARY solution that you and the community are not listening to. We removed a bug that impacted gameplay NEGATIVELY, god for bid it impacted something considered time wasting and for the lulz that has no impact on actual gameplay as well. Were such nazis! There were other bugs for the recent patch that we had to focus on, like sabers lagging when in contact with another saber in idle. We didn't have time to fix the animation-bypass but keep hug before release of the patch. I am one of the ones that support bringing torso freeze back, without insta kata and other issues and I am now having a harder and harder time supporting that out of sheer annoyance. If you want to continue saying our arguments are flawed, then good luck getting us to actually listen to you. The amount of energy we are having to expel to just try and get you guys to have some patience, and understand our side, is taking development time away from fixing the issue. Saying that the majority of the community support keeping torso freeze as it was in V0 is absolute false and your own poll on the MB2 forums followed that, where most people supported keeping torso freeze once the other bugs with it were removed.
The air support voice command served no purpose, which is why it was removed. Charge was too loud, so what? Is it really that big of a deal that you, Jango40, and others complain about an entire release for weeks causing drama everywhere over something completely minuscule? None of these things you complain about have anything to do with the core gameplay. They're things you spam to screw around and waste peoples time who are waiting in spectator after they died, and to murder their ears.
We have already addressed this issue multiple times to you and others on the MB forums, and continuing it here will not help us fix the bug. So please, lets stop this here.
Remember, we work on this for free in our free time. We aren't a paid team that works 24/7. For example, the past two weeks I have been trying to get back to school for the first time in 2 years and haven't touched a single things related to MB. We're busy, give us time.
Eh. First of all - bringing torso freeze back would take a few minutes, and blocking Secondary/Primary fire while pressing USE_HELD_ITEM would make instakata impossible. (And also take practically no time)
Second - Where the hell did any of you state that this was only a temporary solution? I have seen practically every torso freeze related thread, and never seen anyone mentioning it was a temporary solution. Link?
Third - The poll is not false. 37 people voted yes, 27 voted no (At the time it was closed). If you decide that insta kata won't be brought back, people won't suddenly want to keep torso freeze away, therefore they overflow to torso freeze w/o kata.
Fourth - Yes, I know a lot of developers want torso freeze, but Sxx (Leader) said it won't come back. How were we supposed to know it was only a temporary solution?
Fifth - If you communicated with us better, this wouldn't ever have become a problem! You can't blame us for making a drama when you are not ever clarifying what you want to do. A post in some other non-torso freeze related thread can easily slip by and go unnoticed.
Uh, and also, I think you devs should communicate better with each other too. While you say it is a temporary solution, Sxx is basically saying torso freeze is cancer and will never return. I don't know who to believe.

I like the ''Episodes'' idea. Get the basic stuff like HUD, characters and story for the first map done, create the map, move on to another. Sounds great and it certainly has higher chances of succeeding than a single full release.
