Oh yeah, I'm not arguing that. They don't have very good tone live or on albums anymore.

Ah, I'm not being sarcastic. Mounting hour heads in a rack is smart for transport and ease of wiring. Equipment gets ruined in transit really often.

Nope, they both pretty much do exactly that: http://mesaboogie.com/news/2011/11/metallica-live-rigs/ I like how he has his heads mounted in the rack as well. That's actually really really smart.

To be fair though, getting good tone out of EMG pickups is a constant struggle against mix matching gear. Having a tube amp helps a lot with that, but you really need a good EQ to dial in the levels to produce a full tone.

lol, whatever you don't buy Dirge of Cerberus on PS2. I loathed that games combat and gameplay. Buy it if you want to take notes on poor design choices. (Some times you need to do that in order to make better designs.)

He actually used to have crappy tone because he scooped the mids out completely. Notice how this is a lot punchier? Matured tone for sure.

The main character was supposedly 16 heres in earth time, but if you go by the lore established later in the plot he is technically ageless.

I think they are really good experiences to have as a game player and a designer. Even if you don't design for RPG or turned based combat, there are gems to pick up. 7-10 i'd place the highest priority on playing. The Snes versions are pretty good too.

I think the people who ended up liking 9 more, played the early versions on snes. There is a lot of throwback that goes on in 9, inspires feelings of nostalgia. One of the things I think that detracted from my enjoyment a bit for 8 was the huge use of cool colored themes. Not necessarily a fault, but it can inspire disinterest after too much exposure. Not all parts of the game were like that.

A lot of people say that. I liked it, but it was really far from being my favorite. The story just kind of like various themes haphazardly smushed together. I did like the huge amount of summons in the game, and the fact that you could level them up. The sumon(Eidolon) system in 9 was very small in comparison. Maybe they felt like having too much of a complicated summon system would pull away from the other design aspects.

I originally had the demo of MSG that you could play all the way to the DARPA chief death. I think it came with a magazine or something. I played that demo over and over and over.

A lot of my best gaming memories did involve the PS1. Geting MSG1, Brave Fencer Musashi, Bushido Blade, Final Fantasy 7 and 9, having people over to play fighting games like Primal Rage and Tekken, X-Com: UFO DEFENSE, WARHAWK, MediEvil. Ah man, I could go on for days. Those were great times.

You realize the PS2 and onwards are just iterations of the PS1 controller, and remain very similar? No, at the time PS1 had very good graphics. This was a popular system when WE were kids. You can point at any system back in those days from the here and now and say, the graphics were shit. Popularity of a game is not solely defined by it's graphics. You enjoy JKA right? It's graphics are terrible compared to recent gaming.
