  2. Well playing against real people is boring as not many can take me down so, for me, it's pretty much the same thing. When you can take on two people at once and survive the duel, it gets kinda boring. When you last entire matches engaging in duels and still don't die, it gets kinda boring. Until proven otherwise i shall still see most as being on the same skill level as bots.
  3. I've been here for a few days and didn't bother to introduce myself so i apologize! My name is Christopher, I'm British but live in Holland. I've been a 3D model artist for the past 8 years or so working on various projects spanning about 4 different game engines. The stuff i do varies from modeling, texturing, animating, rigging, playing synthesizer/Fruity Loops, singing, writing stories and music. Sometimes i come up with so many game content ideas or model ideas that i just get really enthusiastic about it. I do like to try to help people with their game mods but i've seen many mods fail so i'm a bit more cautious these days which is kinda good because it means i have more time to work on my own stuff and better myself in the process I have done a bit of map making both on the Bungie Engine and the Source Engine so now i plan on creating things for this engine as the map creation is very much similar to that of the Source Engine (brushes and such)
  4. I don't like Club Penguin, i'm talking about the animation and the style of the video. It could be Club Penguin or a character style they made up but the underlying style of the overall video is still nice. I guess i like the pastel colours, kinda reminds me of Team Fortress and Clone wars, that's the main thing that got my attention. What i meant to say is that Disney have taken over and they already have great plans for the franchise so i hope the future of said franchise is a good one. I've never really even payed any attention to CP to be honest lol.

Yeh i know all about retopology and such when it comes to textures xD But cool yeh i look forward to the input, i guess this game is old-ish, it's a year younger than the HL2 Source Engine so i guess the limits are almost the same. However this engine seems to suffer in regards to things like phong shading and such. Is it even possible to get great results from this game when the Source Engine isn't much older? I'd have thought that the results would be at least a bit better. I guess i'll try to make a lower poly version then xD
  6. Looks like something for a Kingdom Hearts game lol. I see what you mean but can JA seriously not handle anything better or is the menu model different from the in-game?
  7. I don't really like to work with meshsmooth because it kinda makes you stray from the whole point of making low poly models lol. In your opinion, what vert count do you think this sort of thing should be then for a game like this?
  8. Sure! It's about 8k vertices but that's mainly because i wanted the arc at the front to look smoothly curved and since it's not for a game i figured why not? Could have probably done it with 5k but then the arc wouldn't look so smooth and i haven't gone over it and looked at edges i don't even need.
  9. Yes i set up multi-sub objects/materials to represent differently coloured parts. As i said i may texture it over a few days or so, but i haven't decided yet.
  10. Well i've always liked the style of Ahsoka's hilt, i haven't really seen it in detail before although it does seem to, for the front part, resemble Anakin's hilt, well some features anyway. So i figured, since it's Sunday and i'm bored, i'd model Ahsoka's hilt. Not sure if i'll bother to texture it though as i mainly made it for personal reasons and i doubt anybody will be using it. Although it's a pretty easy model to UVW unwrap really so the experience would be beneficial i guess. The other reason that i chose to model this and not an easier one like Obi-Wan's hilt it because the front of this hilt is, in my opinion, kinda tricky to do with as low poly as possible. If i choose to use it in a game i shall probably re-do it and take more time with it xD

  12. The reason i ask is because I've worked with some engines that can't handle maps that have multiple models made up of, in this case, 9k vertices.

  15. What are JA's limits? I'm wanting to make some stuff myself and i'm trying to work out what the limits are. Say for a hilt? I read that you can have about 1k polies and a model can be made of up to 34(?) parts of 1k polies? Obviously a hilt wouldn't even exceed 1,500 max but just asking xD

  17. Ahhh reminds me of mapping for the Source Engine *sighs in remembrance of years gone by* The principle is the same lol. Makes me want to start mapping for this now but i want to concentrate on making models for it for now xD
