Wait you can force players to download custom textures but not custom characters and such?

Not too bad

Welcome! I see a lot of people wanting to make Machinima/webisodes, i'm always interested but nothing really happens with them sadly...

Is 64Gig even possible and if it is it seems like overkill to me lol. -

64MB????? Damn that sucks i have 6Gig of RAM and a GPU with 2Gig on it, it's amazing you can do anything! lol. -
I seriously mean no offense by this but it should be called "modeling made lazy." I mean where's the skill in this, where's the learning experience, where's the challenge that gets you a decent portfolio that you can be proud of?

I'd bind the up key to jump actually xD

Making env maps/shiny for weapons?
CaptainCrazy replied to CaptainCrazy's topic in Modding Assistance
Thanks -
When i used to play i never really bothered with any websites to be honest but i'm glad that i found this one

@OmegaSigma yeh that's what i wanted to do as well. The levels they made were good but it was more about "what would these levels look like in real life/modern day games?" and not really about bringing nostalgia. I even had to re-invent the grenade launcher and make it a cross between this game and reality, turned out pretty well but yeh. I see what you mean, this engine does seem to yield pretty close results to the one RARE used on N64.

Differences Between Luke Models
CaptainCrazy replied to Circa's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
They all look different but the second one looks as though the first and third had a love child lol. -
I remember working on the one for Source. I made the RCP90 and the grenade launcher, was fun but they were kinda lazy so never really got finished lol. They mainly made re-imaginings of the classic maps, and such for MP. I always wanted to re-make the maps as they were but meh, i do consider doing it for this engine though.

I know textures need to be power of two xD -
Making env maps/shiny for weapons?

@AshuraDX How come a lot of sabers have a _spec.jpg? I guess making something like this for an env map will do for now: And the alphaGen const changes how much influence it has on the texture. I would like to make specular to give the illusion of weathering on shiny parts but not sure if that's possible. -

So using this as a basis how much needs to be changed apart from file names obviously? I just want to mess around with it but i bloody hate scripting lol. -
I don't really ask for help much here but oh well. I'd like to be able to make shiny parts for some stuff I'm working on, i know how to make them in 3DS Max but is there something like an alpha that the engine needs to read in order to acknowledge it? I've tried looking for tutorials on this particular thing but no luck as of yet, i've even tried going through a few textures that i know use "shiny" parts on them but they just seem to be simple .JPG and i wasn't aware that .JPG used alpha channels. So i guess that it has something to do with the shader itself but, as i said, i can't find any tutorials on it xD I noticed that some models come with 2 or 3 textures, one that says _spec and one that says _glow. Obviously self explanatory but i don't get how a simple .JPG can have such an effect in the engine. I'll continue to look through textures and shader files until somebody can explain it to me or provide a tutorial.

Okay so maybe not your clan but perhaps you by yourself. You enter a game and you want to kick some ass, be relentless but tactical in your strife's. What do you listen to to make you think you can accomplish anything? What makes you feel like you can take on anything or anyone? For me, lately, it's this song... As a musician i prefer instrumentals, lyrics cage your imagination too much xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs3H0mK8nPg
