Śăļvõö
Hi everyone, I was wondering if it possible to load an mp map on sp. I mean a map made entirely and just for mp, like some MBII maps we can't load in single player because there is no spawn point. Hope to receive an answer, even to take off a curiosity. Thanks Link to comment
Kualan
The base mp maps just need 'mp/' before them in the console. Eg. 'devmap mp/ffa1' Link to comment
Śăļvõö
The base mp maps just need 'mp/' before them in the console. Eg. 'devmap mp/ffa1' I tried, but it doesn't work, I put the map in maps/mp folder and and typed devmap mp/mb2_cmp arena but it doesn't work. It tells me he couldn't find a spawn point. If you want to take a look just for trying I could give you the map (however it is from MBII and has been made only for mp).So there's nothing to do ? Link to comment
therfiles
Hi everyone, I was wondering if it possible to load an mp map on sp. Thanks Unfortunately, to my knowledge, it's not possible. SP uses a few different entities than MP does to control spawn points. MBII (I think) even has their own unique ones. Not 100% sure, but I think if you get that error, you might be out of luck. Link to comment
mrwonko
The map needs to contain an info_player_start for it to load in SP. Apparently this is not the case for the MB2 maps, which presumably only need siege spawnpoints. Not much you can do outside of trying to modify the map... What was your goal anyway? therfiles
@@mrwonko could you do some entity modding to add that entity in? Link to comment
mrwonko
I probably could, but why would I? I have much more interesting things to do. Śăļvõö likes this Link to comment
Śăļvõö
If it is not possible I don't worry, but hope it is possible. This is a really good map. Seeing some MBII maps like it in SP would be nice Link to comment
therfiles
Oh sorry, @mrwonko, I was just wondering if that could be a solution, not that you needed to do it But Yeah @Śăļvõö I think that ent modding thing is your best bet. mrwonko likes this Link to comment
Śăļvõö
Ok. I'll see what I can do, maybe asking someone, but I'm not sure, however thanks for the help Link to comment
Jeff
You can do it by entity modding it and it's fairly easy. Link to comment
