Playing music ingame?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how playing music in game works? I mean, can I play a specific track in-game through a command in the console (I'm talking about the original music tracks located in the .pk3 files)?

Also if this is possible, is there any way to create a menu in which you could select a track to play?

Thanks.

Oh really cool, thanks but is there a way I could for instance play the action music from a map? I just tried hoth2 as you suggested and it plays the explore track by default.

Yes, just enter the name of the track instead of the folder. So like "music hoth2/hoth_action"

Yeah, I actually did this when I was playing with the command but the console just gives me an error saying the track was not found.

Just to check, did you you use @@eezstreet 's quote or the actual track name? Since in the assets it is called 'hoth2_action'

Oh I pointed it out, you actually have to execute it like this: "music music/hoth2/hoth2_action" to play the action track from the map.

Now does anyone know if it's possible to create some kind of a menu in-game for this?

Thanks.
