Pierry
Hello. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how playing music in game works? I mean, can I play a specific track in-game through a command in the console (I'm talking about the original music tracks located in the .pk3 files)? Also if this is possible, is there any way to create a menu in which you could select a track to play? Thanks. Link to comment
Circa
Just type "music folder" in the console. Replace map with the folder you want to play located in the music folder. (e.g. music hoth2) Asgarath83 likes this Link to comment
Pierry
Oh really cool, thanks but is there a way I could for instance play the action music from a map? I just tried hoth2 as you suggested and it plays the explore track by default. Link to comment
eezstreet
Yes, just enter the name of the track instead of the folder. So like "music hoth2/hoth_action" Link to comment

Just to check, did you you use @@eezstreet 's quote or the actual track name? Since in the assets it is called 'hoth2_action' Link to comment
Pierry
Yeah I tried that but unfortunately that didn't do the trick. :/ Link to comment

Since in the assets it is called 'hoth2_action' Oh I pointed it out, you actually have to execute it like this: "music music/hoth2/hoth2_action" to play the action track from the map.Now does anyone know if it's possible to create some kind of a menu in-game for this? Thanks. Circa
Yes it's possible. Just need to look at how the MP menu plays music and how to make your own menu based off of the default ones. It can be kind of difficult though. Pretty complicated if you're not comfortable with menu coding or coding of any kind. Asgarath83 and Tempust85 like this Link to comment
Tempust85
Though you'll need to use the stop music command when exiting the menu, otherwise it will continue to play when the menu is closed. Link to comment
Clan FJA
There is a music menu in FM3 Av3 : http://jkhub.org/files/file/1968-fm3av3/You can get inspiration from it and do your own music menu. Link to comment
