well, if the staff is too much overpowered, you can simply:

- consume a lot of force point for the more strongest of its special atk LS_STAFF_SOULCAL for example. ,

- making special kata blockables, but if an opponnent block, he would be knockbacked. :) .

So I've been working on the mods in bits and pieces. Main roadblock I hit coding wise was being unable to figure out how to enable kicking for sabers with a button, and my visual studio debugging stopped working so I kind of need to fix that. So far I haven't done much debugging but if the code puzzles I've been having are any indication I'm going to need it to figure out any other problems I encounter down the road.

 

@T.Zealot may be joining up with me to help with some coding (I'm hoping :D). Might help things a bit. @@redsaurus has already done a lot for me, so big thank you to him. Sometimes I wonder if I'm ever going to finish this mod, but I don't want all his hard work to go to waste. I haven't even really gotten to actually using some of his code pieces yet like the Inventory menu UI scripts. He coded some things for me though that I would have had a very hard time with, like Force Lightning saber block effects and using the crosshair to aim blaster bolt deflections.

 

I had planned to release the menu mods and UI as the next feature, but then I started realizing that a lot of my new UI buttons need hard codes to do what I want. That or I could release them with a config system but that's not as nice and is more bound to have problems. Maybe I could just release a stripped down version... and I should just release the WIP version of the bonus missions menu already I guess. It just needs a few quick touch ups.

 

 

One thing I am a wee bit disappointed about, is that hardly anyone has given me feedback on my animation and NPCs mini mods. I want community feedback on my ideas and direction for pete's sake! <_<

What do I get if I do it? :P just messin' with ya. Let's put it like that; I've got a guardian model ready from my WeaponsHD, it wouldn't take long to modify it into what you want, just tell me a few more details you'd like to see on it and try to be as specific as you can, please. I'm asking because it's just a stereotype thought that sith have black-red favorite colors. I'd say the real sith-ish style is just evil looks and coolness :D

I'll give you some apples haha? I'm not sure what the Guardian hilt should look like exactly... just something a bit unique. Actually, maybe it would make more sense if the Reborn used a sort of double-bladed stinger hilt now that I think about it... would you be able to cook up something like that?

Just released one part of the modded menu system. The next few mods I have planned at some point:

  • Menu style mod: Just a few pieces of artwork I'll whip up for splash screens and loading screens. Also it will have a better video for the SP main menu instead of the normal one.
  • Bonus Missions + Menu: A pack of bonus missions made by mappers in the community. So far they are only ones from jk2files.com that I've gotten permission for. There will be a menu where you are briefed on the bonus missions, and depending on the mission, can select your character model and lightsaber (this won't be very in depth though as if you want to change your abilities I figure you can just use cheats).
  • Maybe I'll release some sort of code sample. Not sure what though exactly.

Oh I'm truly very sorry, I did not notice your post! Of course! I'll get to it, but I'm having some install problems with 3ds Max 2015, everytime it comes to 6.05gig the download stops. I'll try downloading it from another computer and then copy it over but I won't have time today. I'll do it tomorrow or the day after that! I'll try to come up with something that resembles the Guardian and the Stinger both.

I'll try to come up with something that resembles the Guardian and the Stinger both.

 

I guess could you make me one model that basically is a double-bladed stinger hilt and nothing more? And then maybe another one that is reminiscent of both the Guardian and Stinger hilts? I'd be very interested to see what you come up with :D

 

Also, why are all your hilts so nice? It's hard for me to find hilts that go well with them haha.

xD They're nice? Well, thank you, when I look at them, I see tons of flaws. :D Yes I'll get right to it, since this was issued a long time ago. But oh well, AshuraDX's hilts are even far more beautiful than mine and I think that noone else bothers to do things as good as me. What's more, I create everything from nothing, completely from scratch - that's where the crispness comes from in the textures. Every single thing you see on the saber is drawn mainly with brushes and the dodge/burn tool. 

So just to get things straight; which stinger version schould I take as reference? Vanilla JKA/ Mine/ Zefilus's design?

Can't believe I'm just finding this this. Looks like good designs are already there for most NPCs. Might just try ripping off that. Reskinning a hilt to make more "styles" is easy enough a dusty can do it with little effort.

 

How about... a double-bladed version of your stinger, and I'm being greedy, but if you're feeling generous, maybe a double-bladed version of this stinger-remake hilt?

Oh those bonus missions. I must do that. I've put it off for so long. That should be the next mini-mod.

 

I've been working on the code and I think I'm making real progress. I've been making some new cvars, maybe you can guess what they're for?

g_char_forcePowerMax, g_char_forceRegen, g_saberForceDrain, g_saberForceDrainAmount, g_saberDamageScale.

 

Some of it I'm keeping a secret though ;)
