You don't need any coding to set RGB for player models
Just use a skin that supports it and set the userinfo cvars: char_color_red, char_color_green, char_color_blue
Yeah I knew you could do it that way, but to actually set it up in the player menu so it's easily accessible would be nice. Plus I was wondering how I can convert a model to an RGB model.
-
I've seen a few mods that allow for RGB selection on different parts of player models and was wondering how possible this would be for a standalone multiplayer mod. I can take a peak at one of the SP mods to see how they go about selecting different parts to color and such but the whole coding aspect is just beyond me so thought I'd ask the more knowledgeable people on the forum.

<resurrects thread with some mention of JK2:HD>
I'd definitely love for this to be implemented still. Just even as a standalone mod, would add a lot to the game in my opinion.
Also yes, this.

Nah, sorry, not really up to it. I have a lot going on IRL and I'm just not able to really code right now
I completely understand man. Shame, was looking forward to having a functional version of this. In the mean time I'll put together a non-functional scanner release, let me know if you ever get some time to put together some code for this, it would be a dream come true for me to have this work in-game, heh. Best of luck with the IRL stuff man!

you should! I would download them
I've releeased the updated Flamethrower mod, currently working on getting a basic release of the scanner (not functional, just the normal view for now) together so keep an eye out for that. Also, PM me. I have some ideas.

Got back to working on this, @@eezstreet let me know if you're still interested in pitching in with the functional aspects of it.
In the mean time, I'm trying to finalize a release of this mod with JUST the normal scanner view as an "underlay" to the normal JA HUD. I'll keep everyone posted.Circa likes this -
Just uploaded this, pending approval. Will post here when it's approved.
Just so you know what is and isn't in this version, I've taken Dark_Maul's original mod and added a new icon to replace the force lightning icons and changed the descriptions/text referencing Force Lightning to reflect the Flamethrower. I'm still having a ton of trouble with replacing the electricity effect that occurs on a player hit by the lightning/flamethrower. Hopefully I'll be able to add that in a later version, if not replacing it entirely with a fire effect of some kind. -
I love that there's a version with his scanner down too. Awesome. Great work man! This is making me want to continue the bounty hunter mods I had kicking around.

I WAS impressed.
He made it very clear he wasn't interested in modeling. I don't blame him, it's hell. My guess is that the pictures are from the ported model for Garry's Mod.

Did you make that?
No, he didn't.

I'm mostly curious about the water effects, both the water on the ground and the waterfall effects. Very realistic. I'd also like to know what you're using for the candle effects, would love to implement that into the Castlevania mod.
-
So for someone who has avoided shaders like the plague since he started modding, what's going on here? I know it's a rather broad question but just curious as to what kind of effects are being utilized and in what combination for the different parts of the map. Some of these effects are just gorgeous.

Except you were quoting someone linking yourself to a specific conversation? In a way overreacting to a specific post. Imo
It's not an overreaction as I'm not mad. Just stating facts.
This looks great Chalk, I must say I didn't expect much of this but you've surpassed expectation.

How in the world is it being treated like a life and death scenario? He just said "update por favor?"
I can't see at all how that would be bad.
Some people on here tend to forget that.
Read again, I wasn't pointing fingers at specific people or specific posts.

People have there hobbies. Doesn't matter if it's a video game or not.
And people should treat their hobbies as such, just hobbies. Not life and death scenarios.

You're lucky he's even doing this at all. It's alright to be excited, just be patient and wait for an update. He's not your personal slave.
And it's just a f**king video game. Some people on here tend to forget that.

So as an update this map is about 85% complete. 99% of the brushwork is done, and once I get some models from Chalk then I just have to finalize some textures, do the lighting, get a skybox and we're done this one!

Hey, I have been planning to release a "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" HUD mod... and I intended it for ForceMod 3 - Lightmagic for Jedi, Darkmagic for Sith. But... there were complications and I never finished it. I do believe I have the files somewhere still. Not sure. Would you like to have them if I find them?
Sorry for the late reply man, school's taken up all my time. Yes we would love that if you could find it. Any contribution is much appreciated, cheers!

@@Botdra hasn't been on in awhile. How sad.
Doesn't mean I haven't been creeping.
School has taken over. I still plan to work on this mod but it's going to be on and off. I've got Xmas break coming up and at LEAST one week of that will be dedicated to continuing my maps. Chalk is still working on some awesome stuff too, which you'll see as soon as he's done.
Things are going to be slow on this, but they will be happening.

Reminds me a lot of Penumbra/Amnesia/Half-Life with the eerie vibe to it. Great work, good use of details to make it feel more alive and realistic.

RGB in MP?
in General Modding Discussions

I'm sure I can just use the code from one of the SP versions I downloaded (which uses the same graphics) and just make some minor tweaks.
Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is the ability to select certain parts of a model and color them however you wish using RGB. I suppose now I just need to know how to make a model RGB compatible, and how to select the different parts to color separately (similar to the top/bottom/head in species menu). Is there a way I can add more than 3 RGB parts as well?
