After several months of development when the project was re-found again, Release ONE of the map "SSV Normandy SR-2" will be released on Wednesday April 30th at 0:00 CET.

The map has been developed using OpenJK and is fully playable with OpenJK and JAMP.EXE. The workings of this map with other Jedi Academy projects and mods are unknown at this time and information will be updated when available.

    Looks like it.

It is and to my surprise, no-one ever did such a thing. I know that there has been one attempt made for Jedi Academy about 10+ years ago but since then that project went very silent. The only thing I could find, were models for Starfield and Earths Elite (I think) and some WIP clips for Jedi Academy on YouTube but that's it. I certainly hope to change that with my version.

Took forever but I filled in the missing images so it should be 100% now. Also linked to the zip download page there and the reverse, link to the wiki on the download page.

Thanks, that's something I can work with though I have found some that are apperantly JK2 only which the image doesn't reflect. Propably something that I take up myself one of these days . . .

Years ago when I was still active within the Elite Force community, I had four projects that I had intented to develop and release for the RPG-X modification.

    These were the:

    - U.S.S Leonov - "The Animal" (now available for Jedi Academy)
    - Battlestar Aurelia (Outline ONE available for Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast, Outline TWO still in development)
    - U.S.S Southern Cross (Still in development for Jedi Academy, based on a canceled Elite Force II modification)
. . . and this project for which I now post some very early screenshots of.

For years I thought I had lost this project (and others) due to a harddrive failure years ago and while I frequently make back-up's (and now with cloud services, it is way easier nowadays), this project wasn't among them. This changed last autumn when I decided to clear out some old boxes.

In some of them, there were some very old USB sticks and while most of them didn't work anymore, some did partially and a couple of them contained various projects in some degree of projects that I did in the past. Luck would have it that it also contained the above, though I have to admit that I only managed to recover some 70 to 75 percent of what I had back then.

Now that I have found the project again, I have decided to finish it ** properly ** this time and develop this for Jedi Academy. The process of texturing, lighting and dressing the map has already been undertaken and I will use the assets that came with the game.

Stay tuned for more screenshots in the coming weeks . . .

  5. You make an interesting argument, however I look at other aspects other then 'what it can become'.

If there is one thing that has plagued us players in the last five or six years, is the amount of controversy surrounding the release(s) of major AAA title(s). In the last five or six years, there has not been a release that was botched up in one way or another. Either the end-result was filled with bugs in such way that the title was clearly not ready to be released at that particular moment (Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76) or received a lot backlash due to its micro-transactions implementation, making it a pay-2-win game (Battlefront II) and if that doesn't "happen", you can have the problem that the authentication servers are all flattened due to overload (Assassin's Creed Unity IIRC).

This unfortunately cannot should not be ignored by us and unfortunately, it will happen again with the new announced Star Wars titles even if they are not published by EA. Game developers can and will get away with this because of a) there is no consumer regulations regarding this and b) people will continue to pre-order the game, making a steady revenue for the developers to do as they please. This is one of the major reasons why I don't buy full priced games anymore, I'm not going to spend 60 dollars in order to publicly beta-test a triple-A game and that is my rambling . . . 😉

May I ask what the mod was that caused this issue? I'm having the same exact issue, in attempts to load the same exact map. I've cleared out all of my pk3 files and still, no progress. Any info would be helpful at this point.

Are you using OpenJK ?? If so, then it's a possibility that there are still PK3 files in your roaming folder. You can find them in C:\Users\<Your name here>\Documents\My Games\OpenJK -folder. Try removing them and see if the problem persists . . .
