  1. Download Galactic Legacy for a much better and less buggy experience
  2. This is gonna be a big progress report! Hope you stick around until the end! FACTION REWORKS Over the course of this month, a lot of work was done on looking over many of the characters currently featured in the mod. A large issue constantly present in the mod, ever since the beginning, was that many characters were either assigned to the wrong faction, or were assigned to the best faction possible, but it still didn't make sense. After some discussion, we have decided to introduce 1.) A brand new faction, and 2.) Sub-factions. First off, the brand new faction we will introduce is called "Force Users", which will encompass characters that are neither Jedi nor Sith, but also have no affiliation with any other faction. Secondly, with sub-factions, many characters are not directly related to their primary faction, such as Darth Revan and Malak have nothing to do with the Sith Empire faction, which is illustrated by the logo of SWTOR's Sith Empire. As they are closely related, but not exact, their icons have been updated to reflect their correct faction, but will still be located in their primary faction. For example: Sith Empire Sub-factions: Revan's Sith Empire, Exar Kun's Sith Empire, Ancient Sith, Sith Lords, Brotherhood of Darkness. Rebellion Sub-factions: New Republic, Galactic Alliance First Order Sub-factions: Sith Eternal And others will be made NEW CHARACTERS Next update will see to a plethora of new characters coming to the mod. Here is the current list, but please keep in mind that this list is subject to change: THE OLD REPUBLIC - Orgus Din - Trask Ulgo - Vandar Tokare (New model) SITH EMPIRE - Darth Angral - Darth Bane (Dark Lord) - Darth Baras - Darth Krayt (Vong Armor) - Darth Nihl - Darth Zash - Dread Master Bestia - Empress Acina - Exar Kun (Dark Lord) - Jorak Uln - SCORPIO - Sith Pureblood Warrior - Tulak Hord (New model) GALACTIC REPUBLIC - 501st Clone Trooper (New model) - Cin Drallig (New model) - Female Jedi Knight - Ferroda - General Kenobi (Mid-war) - Nikto Jedi Knight - Ord Enisence - Serra Keto (New model) - Vergere - X1 (Clone Commando) - Younglings (New aliens and other variants) THE SEPARATIST ALLIANCE - Asajj Ventress (Late Bounty Hunter) - Captain Argyus - Wat Tambor (New model) REBELLION - Ahsoka Tano (Nomad) (New Model) - Cade Skywalker (New models) - Cal Kestis - Koth Melan - Mara Jade (Jedi Master) - Mirax Terrik - New Republic Security Droid - Rebel Pilot (Female) - Shado Vao - Zekk GALACTIC EMPIRE - Admiral Screed - Crosshair - Dark Trooper - Darth Sidious (Sith Apprentice) - General Mohc - Imperial Commander (Trench Coat) - Imperial Officer (Trench Coat) - Imperial Senate Sentinel - Moff Gideon - Purge Trooper (Uprisng) BOUNTY HUNTERS - Boba Fett (1313) - Fennec Shand - IG-88 (New model) - Montross (New models + variants) CRIMINALS - Shahan Alama CIVILIANS - Czerka Corporation Guard - Kuill - Nico Okarr - Shmi Skywalker - Teebo - Tokkat - Wicket W Warrick FORCE USERS (NEW FACTION) - Revanite Avenger - Revanite Champion - Revanite Convert - Revanite Pursuer - Revanite Vindicator - Senya Tirall INFINITIES - Beach Trooper - Darth Voiid (Separated model) - Dark Lord Anakin Skywalker (Two new skin variations) NPC FREE CHOICE SYSTEM EXPANSION A heavily requested feature for the mod is at last coming to Galactic Legacy, allowing you to customize the weapon and lightsaber of any NPC featured in the mod. Whether it be having Anakin use Mace Windu's lightsaber, have Obi-Wan Kenobi fight in a most uncivilized manner by using a blaster, or for whatever reason giving a Wampa a gun, you will have that freedom! Please enjoy a demo video of the new system in action. Please keep in mind that a menu has not yet been developed for the system at this time, but will be coming later on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T48WqVhg0OQ&ab_channel=StarWars:GalacticLegacy QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES With new characters and faction reorganizing will also see to a large number of Quality of Life improvements to the mod. The first and so far largest improvement is that you will be able to customize the color of your Force Lightning (and Lightning Strike) ability to one of 8 different colors. Aside from the default blue you'll also have the choice to change your color to Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, White, and Black. This customization will also reflect on many characters featured in the mod, so Darth Desolous will get his red lightning, Arcann will have yellow, Plo Koon will get his orange "Electric Judgment" ability, among others. This customization freedom will also be implemented in the expanded NPC free choice system, so you'll be able to give Emperor Palpatine green lightning or Count Dooku red lightning as you desire. The issue regarding save games in missions was finally tracked down and addressed, you'll no longer Crash to Desktop when playing any of our missions, and we will also implement proper Objectives to your datapads for your convenience, limited our usage of printing Text to the screen unless absolutely necessary. Next, many NPCs when hurt would often switch to Fast Style, and some other NPCs would even use Fast style even when using Dual or Staff lightsabers. This issue was tracked down and appears to be fixed, so NPCs will only use their assigned Saber Styles. Additionally, the issue regarding the Sith Sword making NPCs unkillable, such as Mother Talzin and Marka Ragnos was tracked down and fixed, so all NPCs using the sword will be killable as intended. Finally, a small change, but definitely worth it. For those who are fans of the Dark Side ending of the Jedi Academy campaign, you will have the option to trigger it through our mission selection screen or console commands instead of needing to play through the 2nd Taspir mission. NPC MECHANICS More recently worked on, NPC mechanics. We are aware that all NPCs basically act the same as each other, either fighting the same or shooting guns the same. Recently we have taken steps to make some NPCs more unique than others. Over the last week, we have successfully programmed Darth Vader and Lord Starkiller (and respective variants) to play their respective breathing sounds, as well as them playing a more strained breathing sound as they take damage. Most notable of all, the Lord of Pain himself, Darth Sion has been given his unique trait. Upon his first defeat, Sion will regenerate a partial amount or all of his health, and on subsequent defeats he will have a 33% chance of dying. Testing this has been a lot of fun, as Sion's unpredictable chances of dying has made many fights dramatic. I suspect and hope someone will release new challenge videos regarding Sion's iron will to live at any cost. We have discussed other possibilities for other unique mechanics for other characters, and we should have more details at a later time. We have a lot of exciting ideas and we cannot wait to share or implement them as needed. Though this next update will likely see to a small number of NPCs being given new mechanics, we foresee other characters will be given new perks themselves. CONCLUSION This month did not see to any progress on the upcoming Deathstar Rescue mission as we felt it was more important to improve what we had instead of adding something new and (possibly) introducing more bugs. We can confirm however that the remastered Lord Vader POV for Operation: Knightfall is coming along very well, and we cannot wait to share it with you. Thank you for following the development of Star Wars: Galactic Legacy, and may the Force be with you.
  3. Reach out to me on Discord and I'll do my best to help you.
  4. Like Lancelot linked, download Galactic Legacy, we're actively working on the mod. Kotf 2.1 has been dead since April 2020
  5. Playermodel command works with npcs. If it's a model you're doing, then you need to do playermodel model model_default model_default model_default
  6. So what is the problem then?
  7. I was expecting an "attack aircraft". Also I noticed that the resistance and First Order factions are missing. I need to see the exact command you wrote.
  8. Can I see a screenshot? I'm having an impossible time believing this
  9. Download and install the public build of the mod. I don't know why you're insisting on building your own exe file
  10. We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

  11. Also coming next update, an expansion of our NPC Free Choice System! Giving you the ability to customize an NPC's weapon and lightsaber according to your desire!
  12. DEATHSTAR RESCUE This past month saw to the loss of my computer. While I have purchased a new machine,I have lost all progress on Deathstar Rescue. Fortunately, prior to taking my computer in for repairs, I did not progress past the first Deathstar Rescue cutscene and have since completely rebuilt it. Additionally, our mapper, Wettergren, has returned to us and provided a number of great updates to the map, including a better Deathstar for the beginning cutscene. Please enjoy the reconstructed cutscene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXFsDIuF3mI&ab_channel=StarWars:GalacticLegacy OPERATION: KNIGHTFALL As of the last update from Darth Voiid, Anakin's POV for Operation: Knightfall is approximately 85% complete and should be available for the next update, with Clone Trooper and Cin Drallig remasters coming later on. In order to avoid spoilers, we cannot provide any screenshots or videos of the new content which was worked on this month. SAVE GAMES With the return of my computer, a thorough investigation was conducted in order to figure out the issue with save games crashing to desktop during missions. After some careful debugging, we were able to figure out the cause and fixes are slowly but surely being implemented. Additionally, we are currently looking into another issue with missions where your alignment may reset or your appearance may change after starting a mission. We'll keep you posted and should have this fix implemented in the next update. NEW CHARACTERS Coming in the next update will be a slew of brand new characters! The following is a list of some (but not all) characters coming to the mod next update! - Kuill - Moff Gideon - Dark Trooper - Dread Master Bestia - Beach Trooper (yes, THOSE beach troopers) - And more! YOUTUBE We have a YouTube channel now! Please consider subscribing to us for development updates, developer commentaries, memes, and more! Please enjoy a developer commentary for the several bonus missions currently featured in the mod! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvCQFOokfmXWAzaZzXadMvA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gGxvFTh48w&ab_channel=StarWars:GalacticLegacy Thank you for following the development of Star Wars: Galactic Legacy, and may the Force be with you.
  13. The criteria is basically this: 1. Does it fit in well with the story? 2. Is it necessary in order to tell a cohesive story? 3. Do I feel like making it? In terms of the deathstar cutscene, it fit with all of the above. Other cutscenes like the intro to "You have become a Rival" and the Palpatine cutscenes after the Obi-wan and Qui-Gon are more under the case of point 3. What can I say? I like making cutscenes. Those videos were recorded by Darth Voiid, my (for lack of a better term) protégé. He recorded them strictly for the team before making them public. I'll mention OBS, but I'm not going to force him to use it. Thank you though.
  14. It is the vision, I love making cutscenes and even if people only watched it once, it's worth it to me. I can't really answer your question about ambush on Tatooine, I'm not developing that one. I think the author is wanting to change the map but that's about it. Playing through the movie from beginning to end would be too ambitious, all Star Wars movies are mostly talking, not too interesting from the player's point of view.
  15. If it works, then sure. You might notice the deathstar rescue cutscene has a lot of the falcon scene shaved off.
  16. I understand where you're coming from, but recreating the dialogue scenes in JKA I felt was necessary. I didn't want to take the risk of getting sued by having clips of the movie.
  17. Thank you all for looking at this progress report, this has been a productive month for the mod! We hope to have more exciting things for our next report! MISSION UPDATES - DEATH STAR RESCUE: During most of the month of August, Linken's computer has been undergoing repairs and he has made no progress on the mod. What little progress that has been made was focused on the first cutscene of our upcoming Deathstar Rescue mission, which he hopes you enjoy. Please keep in mind a number of errors you'll see in this cutscene have already been addressed: - OPERATION KNIGHTFALL: REMASTERED: As you all know, Operation: Knightfall is being remade. The current version you all have experienced was my first mission to produce for the Galactic Legacy mod, and I am super proud with how it turned out. However, I was not satisfied with it. I felt that it could be much more….deserved to be much more. I discussed with Linken and the team about redoing it altogether, and after several months of development, I can surely say that you all are in for a treat. As of right now the mission itself has reached 75% completion. There are going to be 7 Stages of the mission, 3 of them being cutscene related (with cutscene related animations), and 4 being the mission itself. Our mapper Lwkill has worked incredibly hard to help me realize our dream of a proper Operation: Knightfall. The maps are completely new, retaining some of the old rooms all while adding new ones, but the layout is MUCH different. The story and elements of the mission are going to be DARK, and bitter sweet. You will truly feel the somber, and ruthlessness, that Knightfall was. The intro cutscene map of the Chancellor’s Office with Anakin and Palpatine has also been changed to the Fate of the Republic map for continuity. We also, as a surprise, have a talented voice cast to help bring this mission to life. Plumb will once again be voicing Matt Lanter’s Anakin from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. RedSun has agreed to voice the Clone Wars variation of the Clone Troopers. And Sonam has once again agreed to lend us his voice to do Sam Witwer’s version of the Senate himself. It truly feels like a lost episode of the Clone Wars, and I hope you all enjoy the experience that they have worked hard to provide you. As a treat, here are several screenshots of what is to come: - CONFRONTING THE COUNT: Before deciding to redo Operation: Knightfall, there were 4 missions that I also have cooking in the development oven. The first of which is Confronting the Count from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The mission is 85% done and is close to being ready for release. There will be 2 POV’s for this mission. The first will be Obi-Wan, Anakin, and then Yoda. The second will of course be Dooku. Both are 80% done, the final cutscenes for both are still being worked on, as well as finishing touches on cutscene work to ensure that the experience is an authentic experience from Attack of the Clones. As a treat, here is a clip from the mission itself, keep in mind it is still being developed so there will be a number of fixes to make it look better: - THE LAST JEDI: This is the second mission that I have in development. It is the final battle between Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren from Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. There will be only 1 POV, which will be Kylo Ren. This mission itself is 95% complete except for the last half of the final cutscene. Once that is complete we will release the mission with the Operation: Knightfall Remaster. Here is a clip of the mission itself: - AMBUSH ON TATOOINE: The third mission that I have in development is Ambush on Tatooine from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It will have 2 POV’s, one for Qui-Gon and one for Darth Maul. It was 50% complete, however after deliberation with Linken, we are going to rework this mission as well as hold off until we develop a better map to ensure that it is more accurate to the movie. However here is a clip from the original mission: - A QUEEN IN PERIL: This is the 4th mission I have in development. It is also from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It will have one POV where you play as Obi-Wan Kenobi. The mission is 20% complete. It will have 3 stages. The first draws inspiration from the original Phantom Menace PC game mission: The Gardens of Theed, the stage is named as The Gates of Theed. The 2nd stage, Rescuing the Queen, will be based off of the mission from the XBOX original game Star Wars: Obi-Wan titled: A Queen in Peril. The third and final stage will be based on the mission from TPM PC game once more, Escape of Theed. The stage is titled the same. This mission will be completed last, as it is on a similar level of time needing to complete it that Knightfall needs. ANIMATIONS A few of our team members, including myself, have taken up learning how to animate character stances, and cutscene animations. Here is the 90% complete first stance for Anakin’s Lord Vader model: Thank you all for following the development of Star Wars: Galactic Legacy, and may the Force be with you.

  20. I'm just a simple modder trying to make my way in the community

  21. Thank you all for looking at this progress report, this was a great month for the mod! We hope to have more exciting things for our next update! A NEEDED UPDATE Our last update released in late-July for the most part was a big success, but was missing a number of features intended or introduced a few bugs. This week we will be looking into releasing a small mini-update to address such things as: - Add the new force powers to the controls menu so they can be bound - Add the ability to enable or disable npcs using the new force powers - Add the ability to enable or disable npcs using Force Absorb (or make less frequent) - Implement the Empire model changes previously mentioned in the last update's patch notes but didn't make it in. - Prevent NPCs from blocking force lightning with their lightsabers - Fix some balancing issues with the new force powers. This should be released by Friday, August 13th, possibly sooner provided everything goes smoothly. WHAT IS COMING NEXT We held a community feedback a few months ago and results were very interesting. One question we asked is "What would you like for us to focus on next"? The majority have spoken, and the top 2 responses were: More missions, and manual blocking. We will take this information to heart and so for this next major update, we will be looking into bringing in more missions, manual blocking, and we will also push to bring out Multiplayer as soon as possible! MISSIONS TO EXPECT The following are missions you can expect to see in the next update: - Episode VI: Father vs. Son (Remaster) - Episode IV: Deathstar Rescue - Episode III: The End of the Clone Wars MISSIONS POSSIBLY COMING The following are missions we're aiming to bring to the next update, but are not finalized at this time: - Episode III: Operation: Knightfall (Remaster, Anakin POV only) - Episode II: Confronting the Count - Episode I: Ambush on Tatooine - Episode VIII: The Last Jedi EPISODE IV: DEATHSTAR RESCUE This mission is currently under active development but has a lot of work left to do. Currently our plan is to bring in a Luke Skywalker POV, and Ben Kenobi POV. Our mapper Wettergren has worked hard and created an amazing map allowing you to traverse the Empire's ultimate weapon as these characters. As Luke, you will be tasked with rescuing Princess Leia and then escaping the battle station. As Ben, you must sneak your way through the Death Star and find a way to deactivate the tractor beam holding the Millenium Falcon in place. As our first non-duel and (sort of) non-Jedi/Sith mission, we aim to make this experience as entertaining as possible, introducing stealth mechanics and new puzzles so the experience is not entirely linear. As I close, I'd invite all of you to check out some development screenshots of the mission, and I look forward to sharing more with you. Thank you all for following the development of Star Wars: Galactic Legacy, and may the Force be with you.

  23. Kind of a cliche to keep saying this, but progress, lots and lots of progress! NEW FORCE POWERS The new force powers are 100% completed and are functioning as intended. A new menu is currently in progress to allow you to freely select them during the Jedi Academy campaign. The Jedi Outcast campaign will also include Force Stasis and Force Destruction, allowing you to naturally unlock them during the course of Kyle Katarn's journey. Progress is currently being made on adding the force powers to the NPCs and character selection. Thus far, the TOR and TSE npcs have been applied the new abilities respectively.' Please enjoy a small demo video I made of Jedi Outcast's Cairn Dock 1 level with the new force powers included! WEAPON OVERHAUL With the initial release of Knights of the Force 2.1, we added a number of weapons to the mod. Some of the decisions made with the weapons were....controversial at best. Our team member The New Order took it upon himself over the course of the last year to re-do the stats of the guns, as well as adding more versatility to gunplay itself. Many of the guns have been given entirely new methods of fire, such as high-powered single shots, semi-automatic fire (fires for each click), burst fire, automatic fire, scopes on some rifles, and even adding multiple functions to a single gun. For example, Boba Fett's EE-3 will now fire in three burst rounds by default, you will also have the ability to utilize a scope for accurate targeting, as well as a highly powerful sniper shot. The Clone Commando's famous DC-17m will also have all 3 firing modes that you got to enjoy in Republic Commando! Please enjoy a brief video I made showcasing the changes. BLOCKING FORCE LIGHTNING Over the past few days, we have implemented the ability for you to block Force Lightning with your lightsaber. As of our current functionality, here is what you can expect: - LEVEL 1 SABER DEFENSE: Block Force Lightning at 10 force points per cycle - LEVEL 2 SABER DEFENSE: Block Force Lightning at 5 force points per cycle - LEVEL 3 SABER DEFENSE: Block Force Lightning at 1 force point per cycle While blocking lightning will cost force powers, you will be able to use force absorb to gain points back, with the potential to block lightning almost indefinitely. - LEVEL 1 FORCE ABSORB: Regain 1 force point per cycle while blocking lightning. - LEVEL 2 FORCE ABSORB: Regain 5 force points per cycle while blocking lightning. - LEVEL 3 FORCE ABSORB: Regain 10 force points per cycle while blocking lightning. THE FINAL COUNTDOWN We are nearing the release of this update, and over the course of development, I will be giving regular updates on our Discord server. The following are a list of tasks remaining to be completed, I will do my best to remember to update this progress report as we complete or progress with our tasks. 25. An exciting month for the mod! RELEASE SUMMARY Last week saw to the release of The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise cutscene alongside a few other bug fixes and improvements. Thankfully the release appears to have been smooth and did not require a hotfix to correct any bugs accidentally left in. However, we did release a small hotfix to address some collision issues with Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker's model and a better face texture for Chancellor Palpatine. FORCE POWERS As promised, our next update will see to the release of brand new Force Powers. This month we have been hard at work addressing Force Blast and Force Destruction, which were functionally identical to each other, negating the unique factor that each force power contains. Over Memorial Day weekend, multiple code changes have been made to both powers to make them more unique, which I will describe now. FORCE BLAST Force Blast is intended as the Light Side's only truly offensive force power, capable of causing damage to enemies. Upon activation, Blast will create an explosion off of any solid surface or enemy, causing damage in a finite area. Though the damage output is relatively low, the tradeoff is that the power can be cast through fairly small areas, giving you the ability to catch your enemies off guard. As Force Blast is an instantaneous power, NPCs cannot push back the projectile so it is a guaranteed hit. However, Force Absorb can lessen or even nullify the impact of the power. FORCE DESTRUCTION Making its initial debut in Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Force Destruction has been designed to be the most powerful Force ability in the game, but also the most dangerous. Initially, Force Destruction had a set force point cost and set damage output. With the code refactor, Destruction has been completely reworked. Force Destruction can be fired at any amount of available force points you have in your arsenal. Draining the entirety of your force pool, Destruction's damage will be equal to the amount of Force Points you have available, multiplied by the power's level. For example: - If you fire Force Destruction with 300 force points, the damage output on a direct hit will be 300hp of damage, multiplied by the current level of Destruction, with an overall maximum possible damage output of 900hp. Surrounding enemies will be struck with the same amount of damage. Additionally, any enemy killed by the power has a 33% chance of being vaporized. This does not affect damage output and is strictly a cosmetic feature. - If you fire Force Destruction with 1 force point, the damage output will be 1hp of damage, multiplied by the current level of Destruction, with an overall maximum possible damage output of 3hp. Destruction has the potential to be highly damaging, but it does not come without risk. Force Sensitive NPCs can still push back the power at you, and Force Absorb can only mitigate up to 60% of incoming damage. The power's potential to be an instant kill required the ability for the player and NPCs to defend themselves. NPC BEHAVIOR These Force Powers will be applied to the NPCs where applicable. However you may be thinking that any NPC with these powers will be severely OP. We have already thought of this potential issue and have already taken steps to mitigate the effects from NPCs: - The damage output of Force Destruction, Force Blast, and Lightning Strike will heavily scaled back and will be entirely dependent on the game's set difficulty. The easier the game mode, the less damage the powers will cause. - The player will be completely immune to Force Fear at any given time. - Force Grasp causes no damage and can be force pushed out of. - The player only has a 33% chance of being affected by Force Stasis. If the player has Absorb activated, the chance is reduced to 0% COMMUNITY FEEDBACK A little over a week ago, we have put together a new Google Form to get our community's opinion as to which direction the mod should go. As of writing this report, we have received 84 responses. I know we can do better, and would like to try and get as many responses as possible. Later this month, I will show off the results. Please consider filling out our form if you haven't done so already: https://forms.gle/NJcKBrMjeJFstedN8 Thank you for following the development of Star Wars: Galactic Legacy, and may the Force be with you.
