  1. My god, can people please stop posting so many "official" leaks surrounding TLJ on YouTube?! It's flooded with rubbish... so much so that even if a real leak happened we wouldn't know...

I would say, the leaks for TFA weren't very accurate :) At least some major ones were not true at all (in some cases unfortunately).

  2. Star Wars: The Last Jedi? o.O This just keeps getting better and better... The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi -- seriously, which of these does not sound like a crummy fan fiction title? Who comes up with these??

Well, agree on everything about Ahsoka except for her familiar face :) Actually if we dig deeper in her persona, especially in Season 1 – she exactly what a Jedi wouldn't be. That's what Yoda says in Episode V, that a Jedi never seeks adventures. This however can work in a peculiar way: Anakin was a lot into adventure and admiration of life, so was Ahsoka, who took a lot from her Master. Yoda, seeing this in the past, retells the story to Luke on Dagobah. But still this is my speculat...

Well, I despised the idea of Anakin having a padawan, but it actually worked out fantastically. Maybe because they used a more dramatic approach, than such a cartoon would usually require.

  4. We got any Freemaker fans here?

  5. When people say we've had no good Star Wars games, they are wrong. We've had Dark Forces, and we've had KOTOR -- both brilliant games that pushed the creative boundaries of what was possible in a video game.

What I did like about the old games, is that the developers had limits but still they were creative. Every detail in level design has sort of duplicity of perception: you are open to treat them the way you like. E.g. in DF2 Nar Shaddaa is not just a city level, but also includes a staship section, as well as cargo transport at the distance.

  6. What a relief: BBY/ABY dates are Canon again. It's not that I stopped using these after cancellation, but it's much easier to put all events in one timeline. Finally.

It's mentioned in the Wookiepedia discussion, but here is an actual example: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/5_ABY/Canon

  7. New Canon: The Imperial Palace from old EU is now the reconstructed Jedi Temple, thus Palpatine resides in former Jedi Order HQ after Order 66. LOL.

    1. NumberWan

      NumberWan

Your comments are my opinion exactly. If we remember old Canon, the Imperial Palace was a very legendary place, full of stories, etc, while the Jedi Temple during the Empire was a living monument to the collapse of the Jedi and a Restricted area with obsolete corridors and ravaged hallways. I would like to think, that the Emperor still lived in the Imperial Palace, set separately from the Temple, while the latter could also be called the Imperial Palace, but in terms of jurisdiction and secur...

Ports are possible, but I like the unique things, which haven't been seen in any game prior – usually these are the coolest stuff.

  10. Armitage Hux? Really? What kind of name is that?

    1. NumberWan

      NumberWan

I know that. Luc Besson is a famous person, and his is also Luke in some ways :) I were saying, that some names sound better and closer to fantasy stories, than others. Luke is probably one of those, because John, Jack and Jake aren't the names that I hear here and there all the time, but I know, that they are widespread both in real life and literature. And for this reason and perhaps several more, they sound more Earth-like. Luke isn't very original, but it worked to become iconic i...

These names aren't very common. At least I met some of these names only on a few occasions. Kyle Katarn isn't purely Star Wars name either (Kyle is in Terminator for instance). It's just that some names sound better and closer to fantasy story, than others. Armitage doesn't sound that good like Wilhuf Tarkin. However Episode IV had a few characters very much with Earth-like names too, including the Imperials in the Death Star round room.

No, Hosnian sounds strange. And as far as I know, they derived it from a certain real-life person. Armitage might be a real name too, but I prefer Star Wars names to real-life ones.

Well, General Armitage Hux sounds a lot like the Hermitage Museum, doesn't it?

As for the planets, I like Hosnian Prime for the mere reason, that they created it in order not to irritate us with the destruction of the beloved and wonderful Coruscant, a true centre of the Galaxy.

Mission Vao is way much better than what we have these days. Sheev Palpatine is another such example. Actually I don't like the name of the planet Hosnian Prime.

    1. NumberWan

Not every game, but most of the stories, at least, show a ship. In DFII it was the scene with Jerec. In MOTS we simply see space above Altyr V.

Yes, Voltron was also introduced almost the same year on the channel I watched. And a few others. The latest ones which I found enjoyable perhaps are the Death Note and the Attack on the Titan. Usually I come across these by accident, or with friend's help, so I am sure there some series, which are great, but are unfamiliar to me. :)

I was a big fan of Robotech, well, actually I like it still, maybe because it's from my childhood, and it was also one of the first anime series in 1990s. It was a Western adaptation though, mixing three different series into one. :)

...first stone into building the Empire. Besides we have Jar Jar in many other films, their own kind. In Krull it's Ergo, the wizard, in Death Note it's Amane Misa, in Dungeons and Dragons it's Eric, while in Ducktales it's Launchpad McQuack. For me Jar Jar also serves as an important contrast for Amidala and Palpatine, each of whom also come from Naboo, but are remote in behaviou and attitude from each other as well.

In various posts I often said, that Jar Jar should be considered a jester, a joker of sort. Most of the classic literature had this kind of character, stupid, silly or just funny. But Jesters as goofy as they might seem, often are the only ones to speak the truth (in presence of the kin). We see this moments before Amidala decides to leave Coruscant, as the gungan is the only one to say, why the Naboo and his people don't befriend each other. Also in Episode II it is Jar Jar who puts the...

Jar Jar never truly infuriated me. I learnt about this hatred for him only years after Revenge of the Sith. But I do like the fuzz and memes, which grew around him over years.
