In one sentence, it basically forced Western ideals -- and not very worthy or sensible ones at that -- into traditional Maori, heroic, heritual/sacred stories. @Bek Moana was awesome, I wouldn't trust Cerez's opinion when it comes to Disney - he's very biased. In regards to it being disrespectful that just isn't true. As someone who has many Polynesian friends and watched it with them they love it and are glad it came out. The story itself is fine and well told.
