Going back to someone who changed their mind is for doormats, and seeing someone before you have gotten over your breakup will encumber the new relationship with a lot of emotional baggage. Telling someone who is going through tough times to cheer up is generally very tasteless and unhelpful. If a person has gone through something that is worth mourning over, then telling them to cheer up doesn't even make sense.
