@@Botdra: generally you don't want to piss off GameStop (who also runs GameInformer btw), Blockbuster, and cable companies all in one fell swoop. I disagree, them not saying anything is probably the best response on their part. But otherwise yeah, the points you've summed up are pretty much why I think this is rubbish. EDIT: noteworthy: also PS4 uses GDDR5 RAM, which PCs don't even use yet (they use GDDR3 RAM, same as Xbox One). So uh...right, something something transistors something something

Kinect is a complete gimmick. We were told that it was going to be impressive ~3-4 years ago and it still hasn't served any purpose outside of cheap motion games and fairly useless voice command features. Ghosts is crossplatform, and not an exclusive. Having multiple accounts on the same game on splitscreen is problematic then, and some of the newer games on PS4 I believe are able to support multiple PSN accounts on a shared screen and get achievements for those characters. PSN accounts are bound to the controller, not the game itself, and can be changed whenever. At least that's my understanding of it, because Diablo III appears to be PS4 only and uses characters stored either locally or on the cloud for different Battle.net accounts, which are attached to PSN accounts. Or something along those lines, anyway. Running 3 OSes is completely idiotic, outside of virtual machine environments. They should have just made it all use the same OS instead of switching around. In addition to the extra overhead, you probably have to wait for those OSes to boot for completely menial tasks, unless it boots all three at once and runs them in the background (which would murder performance btw, so I doubt it) The only good to come out of this would be perhaps the touchscreen on the controller, which appears fairly limited in comparison to the PS4's screen due to its positioning and shape. Also the multitasking seems good, but it ought to be fairly standard on ANY OS to have multitasking these days (this is not 1994, people). If it runs a watered down Windows 8 and has support for Metro apps there's also that too. Playing Angry Birds just got more real, bro.

Not sure if sarcastic or serious... the so called "features" of the Xbox One seem like a joke really. Running 3 different OSes on the same console? What?

We could do "That's so Raven" but then it wouldn't be fun to put that in code comments whenever we see derps from Raven in there.

but he's riding a boat, not a ferry i dun get it

I'm wondering what peoples' opinions are of the console. Personally, PS4 seems much better considering their conference didn't focus on TV and sports games. Also they showed the controller and seem more indie-oriented and customer friendly.

We should all rename our usernames to be variants of "Corey in the House".I call CoreyInDaKFC.

At least it isn't about fuckin' clones.

You mean g_saberMoreRealistic?
-
Something like it, yes. Except that it has more effects and it's for OpenGL games instead of DirectX ones.
-
It's an OpenGL proxy mod. You place it into your Gamedata folder and it works for JK2, JKA, MP or SP, and on all maps. The effects are customizable via a .ini file, and are always on, except in the UI and when cg_draw2d is 0 (though you can customize it so that the opposite is true). Also has support for Q3, Doom 3, and a few other games I think.

The textures on the windows could use some work. The big yellow stained glass looks like it has some stretching and it looks like your reference has more than two different window varieties

It's been 47 minutes between your posts. Chill, bro.

I was referring to how Moondog is totally scripting for a Hello Kitty game

Has nothing to do with it. Also we don't have an installer yet because we don't have a first relese yet. You're looking at raw alpha/beta crap.

Jedi Knight Galaxies source code released

Yeah, that's way more simple of a job than the launcher, all things considered. -
He used QEffects I believe, but other than that it seems like it's the stock stuff. I can see a few base textures here and there

Pretty stale, really. I think since that video we got sprinting animations in first person, reloading animations in third, and some other misc fixes to the animation stuff. Basically nothing worked on in terms of player models. I think someone is working on some Mandalorian armor pieces, which will be rigged as a player model for the armor (Armor works by means of an .armour file, which specifies the player model to use for the armor piece, the surfOffs for the base player model, and the surfOns for the player model. It's then linked to an item via an .itm file, and so on. Armor is basically rigged up like a player model and then overlaid) Since we want armor to look uniform and correct and stuff, there was some work done on base humanoid meshes which would be modified in body shape and features, and given different sets of armor/clothes for the different NPCs. Overall, character customization is achieved with a complex set of surfOffs/surfOns and different models. Since we have the engine source, we can now utilize the Model Index feature of Ghoul 2, where we keep 32+ ghoul2 models within the same instance. Pretty awesome stuff, actually. Most of the effort has been put into the levels and guns atm. Content creation pipeline is pretty legit too, and I reckon once JKG Studio gets finished it'll be a good development platform. It seems like the code got pretty messy though since I left so it'll have to be all cleaned up and refactored. -
Jedi Knight Galaxies source code released

Interesting. I have no reason to suspect that either of our projects are in danger then, since that new FPS game looked vaguely similar to the stuff you guys were doing. I'd be more concerned about the competition that JKG might have with TOR if it went standalone. -
Now you know my pain, szico. Now you know my pain.
-
JK2 mode or JKA mode? Also what map/mod are you using? EDIT: Looks like an ancient build. Be sure to use the latest stuff.

moondog is full of shit that is all
