AshuraDX Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I recently noticed that modders lack the ability to change the rider aniamtion for vehicles , without replacing the specific line in aniamtions.cfg , is there any way you guys could implement this ?
CaptainCrazy Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 No offense but is it really that hard to replace a line? Don't get me wrong I've never had to do it so I don't even know how difficult it may or may not be I'm merely curious.
eezstreet Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 It'd probably be low priority. I don't see the point really. CaptainCrazy likes this
AshuraDX Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 it'd just be nice for custom vehicles , I came across this while working at my skiff : in order to change the default swoop riding animation you have to completely replace it which makes other vehicles that are designed to use that aimation (tauntauns ,swoops) like shitand I guess it wouldn't be too much work , would it ?
eezstreet Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 No, I guess it wouldn't. /me puts @@Raz0r on the spot
minilogoguy18 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 There is a riderAnim line in the code that can be used in .veh files but it doesn't work, seems like it would just need some fixing. This is the only reason why I gave up on the AT-RT, base animations didn't work and I didn't want to overwrite any of the existing and mess them up. Archangel35757 and AshuraDX like this
ensiform Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Anything dealing with anims is going to be a compat breaker more or less though. Vehicles are also sorta both game loaded too.
Archangel35757 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 It would be nice to have a feature in the vehicle file that tells it what rider animations to play-- then you could make custom riding anims for custom vehicles... then these new rider animations should be added to the GLA-- not replace existing anims.
eezstreet Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Oh, that's true. I forgot that they're BG, not just client side.
