OpenJK + JA++ problem

I got the server running now, but the strange thing it, the gamename is JA+ 2.4 Build 7 instead of JA++.

I removed any .dll and pk3 file that concerns JA+ and added everything concerning Server and Clientside of JA++ but it doesn't change the gamename of the server. :S

Try removing all dlls from %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games\OpenJK\japlus and the ones in the GameData\japlus folders.

 

Did you put fabulous_openjk.pk3 somewhere?

Remove dll files from %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games\OpenJK\base as well.

 

Hint: if %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\ puzzles you, just open up the Documents folder and traverse the rest if under Vista or newer.

I tried it, but when I delete every .dll in japlus and in the %Kenny%/My Documents/OpenJK/japlus folder It gives me the following errors:

 

VM_Create jampgamex86.exe failed!

VM_LegacyCreate jampgamex86.exe failed!

 

Could you maybe write it in steps how I should install ja++ please?

Tried it,

 

Now I just tried it Clientside, when I join a JA+ server my version is still 1.4, is that normal?

But I got the new GUI and such, so I think it worked.

 

Now, how do I get sure that JA++ works serverside?

When I got the JA++ files (Clientside and Serverside in japlus folder) it says JA+ v2.4 Build 7 as Gamename.

Shouldn't that be JA++ and then the version ?

Now it's telling me that it can't find the sabers anymore.... Jeez what is wrong with these mods...

 

I install OpenJK

I move all the files from JA++ in japlus folder

 

And it just doesn't work, could you guys help me out? A more detailed installation procedure could come in handy.

The reason gamename is the same as JA+ is because Slider uses version sniffing. You can check japp_version

The installation instructions for JA++ is simply to copy the specified files into japlus. Nothing else.

About installing the clientside,

 

I just deleted the ja+ 1.4 version and tha gla_anims in base and then just copied the client side files inside japlus.

I don't understand what to do with the cvar list,

Do I just copy all of the server cvars inside a server.cfg or add it into the ja+ server.cfg and how do they have to be added, in which template? 

This one as example:

 

bot_addDelay (default: 3)

 

Do you just place it like that? Or does it need some extra's ? Like seta bot_addDelay (default: 3) or like seta bot_addDelay 3 or "3", I don't know.

Ok, so now I installed JA++ serverside and clientside, now when i open up OpenJK and join a server it gives me this crash report:

You only want to add the ones you want to change

Put it like

set bot_addDelay "1"
You don't need to use seta (set-archive) if it's in a configuration file that gets loaded every time.

 

Try launching the game with

+set fs_game "japlus"
And use this PK3, let me know if it works (It was built in a special environment)

Did you attempt to install the VC++ 2010 redistributable?

Well, since I am using Windows 7 and not XP, I thought I didn't have to, and I am not sure if I do, I shall just install it and see what's happends. Stay tuned!

Hmm, I've reinstalled the vc++ reindistributable 2010 and I've placed that pk3 in japlus, still the same error.

 

I gonna reinstall the clientside stuff again, let's see what that gives.

Hmm, so I've deleted all the files inside of japlus and put in all 6 files from ja++ (Server and Clientside).

And I tried to run openjk.x86.exe with a shortcut which starts up the game with +set fs_game "japlus" but it gives the same error.
