Classic issue. He's using a pentium 4 it seems.

@@Who is watching? What is your graphics card?

If updating drivers don't help, I recommend this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gldirect/

It's what I used to fix that issue on my old laptop long ago. Download and install it, then fiddle with the config and try launching Jedi Academy. Should work eventually.

GLDirect, that was easy.. I put "opengl32.dll" into the GameData folder and academy is now running thanks!

I'm not sure where to put the rest of all these GLDirect files however..

Glitches noticed,

- Intro words in space not appearing

- Lightsaber not appearing in the lightsaber creation screen

Anyone know much about where to place all these files in the GameData folder?

Do not use GL Direct. It's garbage. Also it always says pentium 4 for newer machines, it doesn't know anything else.

Tell us more information about your machine. What cpu, graphics card if any, etc.

I second ensiform here. GLDirect should only be used as a last resort (e.g. your computer is over 10 years old or something) otherwise you might have other issues.

Can you post your hardware specs? JKA always reports players using P4 processor since it doesn't recognise the newer ones. Updating your graphics drivers should fix the problem better without any of the glitches you're seeing now.

Didn't know it always said pentium 4, I assumed he was on a toaster like I was years ago and gave him the best advice I knew would work. The laptop I was running it on was an old ATI mobility card with 16MB vram.

Windows 7 - 64bit

Intel Core i5-2410M CPU

Display adapters listed under device manager:

- Mobile Intel HD Graphics

- Radeon HD6770M (I think this is the primary one)

Let me know if you guys require any further specs, may the force be with us.

You haven't said if you tried updating your graphics drivers yet. In device manager right click and update and choose Check automatically.

No need for GLDirect then, that graphics card is fine for regular drivers. Windows is stupid, sometimes it will say your drivers are up to date even if they aren't.

Update em, and MAKE SURE that your Radeon HD 6770M is the default display device.
