Tools for JKA Machinima.

Hey everyone.

I've been thinking about making JKA Machinima's for fun again, but a lot has "happened" in the modding community since I last made any videos. Besides old stuff like NPCtool, are there any useful tools out there which could come in handy for creating single player Machinimas? Tools to control NPS's, control the camera fluently, and other tools of similar nature.

Cheers

I would say, you dont really need that many tools. I maniplulate the camera only via console commands. For a completly free camera, I spawn a swoop, get on it with deactivated lightsaber. The saber will disapere. Now you can switch into ego, use noclip and you have a completly free camera modus.

For nice animations, use @@Noodle 's animationsmenu for SP.

Also, the Aiworkshop is very usefull for manipulating npc for different scenes.

Yeah. I personaly think, you dont really need that more.

Isn't there a mod named JAMME that helps with movie making?

Some prefer using SP for Machinima making cause of being able to save, while some prefer MP cause it has some stuff they're looking for. All in all, do some testing. I myself prefer SP cause that's the formula I was looking for for my machinimas. Of course, it took a bit for SFX/RGB sabers to make their way over there but it was worth the wait. :3

If you spawn an NPC with a nickname, you'll be able to control that NPC.

E.g:

/npc spawn stormtrooper bob
/control bob

And to regain control of yourself:

/control

If you use this mod, you can change some things about Bob's behaviour, too.

A useful way to get a camera: Put this in a *.cfg file

cg_draw2d !
weapon 0
cg_thirdperson 0
wait 3
noclip

When dealing with NPCs, it's useful to use these commands, too:

god
notarget
g_npcfreeze !

"g_npcfreeze !" will toggle frozen NPCs

I hope this helped :)
