Darth Malgus + saber

Darth Malgus was a Human male Sith Lord of the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War.

 

I started this project a while ago and it was never intended for release since it only consisted of a hooded and masked head at the time. A somewhat half assed body was then added, followed by a rushed texturing job. Quality is so-so but hopefully you'll still enjoy slashing things as an armored sith warrior.

 

I could've taken out a few of the head choices since they're not too extreme in-between but adds some variety.

 

Known bugs: I have not been able to make the hilt work in the SP menu selection, i think it comes up blank and not selectable, not sure what the problem is and frankly don't care.

I mean that when i've encountered him on swtor he was only able to talk nonsense like most of sith and jedi alike. Revan and Kyle seems to be the only two with enough good sense in my opinion.

Imo one of the best skins I've ever seen!
There is a problem in the .skin files though! It links to a head_face model that isn't there on the model. When opening the model in modview the rest of the textures don't load because of that :)

By the way, you know, i would have paid for a mod like this one for KoTor. Too bad that doing mod such as this for kotor games is really hard.

Someone from the Kotor community contacted me about converting the model, so there's a chance you get this guy in there too.

It's not a glitch, it's for hiding the various head portions when using the hood or mask combos. Works fine in modview, just have to turn off some parts that are white (depending on the .skin file that is used).

@Psyk0Sith Dude, this is incredible work! I downloaded him and checked him out in my Character Creation, before starting a new game.. And the amount of detail and choices of attires/garments is incredible. Judging by this model alone.. You should definitely do some Force Awakens models (Such as Kylo Ren w/his crossguard lightsaber). I'd be really interested in seeing how they come out. If this is anything to go by, then we'd be in for a real treat.

Hey @Psyk0Sith, when you get some free time to look into it, I was gonna ask if you could look at improving Darth Malgus' cape? By means of making it a little more "free-flowing". @dark_apprentice has done a pretty good job with achieving that with the cloak on his Captain Phasma model, so it'd be nice if your Darth Malgus model was given the same treatment..

   The custom sounds are really smooth and the model works well with conversion mods that change the multiplayer roster (I've tested it with FM, OJP, and numerous others and haven't noticed any conflicts, crashes, or bugs). If I had ONE gripe, though, its that the cape doesn't flow but I can't fault the mod since JA is designed that way.

   Comes with Malgus' lightsaber as seen in the Deceived, Hope, and Return cinematics and is the exact same one he wields in his raid in SWTOR. The saber doesn't replace any default sabers so the mod won't conflict with some of the popular player model/skin files on JKHub that come with a saber (I know one of the Dooku models I like comes with a saber that replaces a default one, for example).

   The bot-support is also really well done. Unlike some of the other bot-supported files on JKHub, which seem to rely on vanilla behavior and bug out when you use a mod like OJPEnhanced (which changes bot behavior significantly), Malgus can be quite formidable. He uses Force Choke a lot but seems to favor strong power strikes. Near as I can tell, Malgus tries to pound you into submission with overwhelming strength while using Force Choke to create openings in your defense he can exploit. Still not as challenging as a human player and his AI certainly isn't perfect (there is only so much you can do with a bot, after all), but still challenging by bot standards if you go into the fight expecting him to just roll over for you like most bots usually do.

   No, the bot isn't a genious. He does still fall for trickery like all bots do and can easily be outmatched if you know what you're doing (especially if you've ever played against live opponents, his tactics are comparatively basic and straightforward). Not prefect but he's deceptively formidable compared to a lot of other bot supported models on JKHub.

   Definately worth a DL if you haven't already. I would LOVE to see more TOR models of this calibur (maybe a Satele Shan or Emperor Vitiate?) in the future.

Looks great. He's definitely the best character they made for SWTOR along with Shae. Thanks for bringing him to the game.

All options work fine, no problems at all (at least for me in SP).

 

This is a work of art. Amazing model, details, everything is top class.

You either have to put the .pk3 in the base folder or if theres no npc file make one

To play as him, do I type playermodel darth_malgus?

Reason i ask is I downloaded a Revan model and I have to type slk_revan instead of Darth_Revan or something like that.
