  1. Hey there,

so I have been trying to get DC-17 Hand Blaster for Movie Battles and I think I am getting pretty close with this. I am unable to create texture for this specific model it has so many parts on UV view I have no idea what to do about this because I couldn't merge all parts as I was advised to do. I started using Blender only recently what you see before you is changed Commando Pistol from Movie Battles 2 you can see how the original model looked like here.

    1. Can you please tell me what do I have to do here before I can create good UV map for this model?

    2. How do guns work in JKA can I get rid of detailed internal parts to make this model eat up less performance?

  2. I am recently playing with animations. It seems like there aren't many people doing it.

I have been using Softimage Tool 7.5 following tutorial from 2003 by Alex Ball with minilogoguy18's rig. Everytime I run the program it informs me there is an update but isn't Mod Tool like discontinued. Is it safe to update?

Would you mind telling me more about editing/removing keyframes. I seem to have a problem to redo one of the frames that I find not good enough. Also some slider stamps marking there is a frame became invisible - can still normally play my animation. I would like to understand how that works. Is it possible some of the rig bones are hidden because my rig differs from one in the video and there is 'hidden' tab in explorer - not sure I understand how to enable these elements. Special question, it's a mystery to me... Are JKA animations and animations used in Movie Battles 2 different, can they be imported from one to the other?

  3. There are 2 optional features before going into the arena (I want to add more. Give me some ideas pls). Buttons that change the arena gameplay :.

Training remotes from Jedi Academy. For destroying resources to let you keep going.

Sort of challenge? Water would be pushing you towards the pit you would have to resist the flow and keep fighting enemies.

  4. There should be a file for it but I am unable to find it. It's not in zzMBModels.pk3.

Some models might not have any since they all share default positions for holstered weapons. So maybe somebody knows a model from base game that would have custom holster positions I could borrow for Adi Gallia.

I would like to move her lightsaber to back belt and place it horizontally. I just need to find the file to start working.

  5. I don't understand what the point of this thread is, if I'm being honest. The MB2 devs don't read these forums and it's a closed source mod, so there's not so much we can do.

That being said...there's no engine restriction. All of the code for this is handled in w_saber.c.

I have restricted access to the Official. Besides,

I think Movie Battles Developers are actually frequent visitors of this board (some of them at least.) What if after seeing this somebody comes from his 'retirement' to bring this amazing idea to life or correct what's been said. Anything is highly appreciated.

@Animating and coding folks, @@MovieBattles II Team, @Anyone it may concern!

I am making yet another request on mechanic which I believe to be crucial in keeping the playerbase strong and active. New mechanics are something we haven't had in a while (I haven't had in what I am playing so pardon me, if I am wrong here.) Going on...

    Balancing and the mechanics:

    ▪ Staff would move horizontally, not vertically like the usual Movie Battles saber throw,

    ▪ Would continue draining the force unless it is called back or user runs out of the force,

    ▪ Range is limited by how much force points you have,

    ▪ It would always fly at certain minimal height /or higher so people can counter it by crouching and then firing a volley at you,

    ▪ I am unsure if the flight speed should be slow enough to allow dash users to get saved at point blank range.

I am not certain if it is actual engine limitation, probably not - just some missing code? What I learned from some in game conversations is that the staff throw was never considered because it wasn't in the base game so Movie Battles Team never bothered with that. Any opinions, ideas it seems like not that much work compared to my other idea here: https://jkhub.org/topic/9547-shield-animation-for-jk-and-mb2/?view=findpost&p=136740

There is a lot of value in adding a saber throw for staff it would be a brand new way to play it would be as great as introduction of entire new class. New way to play equals more content we definitely want more quality, ability based mechanics.

Help me push it to happen, please.

    Hey there everyone,

I could not find any WIPS for animations and such so I am posting this request here.

Mandalorian is a pretty popular class in Movie Battles 2 and getting it an additional way to play would be very refreshing for a lot of us.

With this shield you could cover one of three body parts: head, chest or legs and keep firing with a single blaster till the shield runs out of the energy. It would not recover once it durability goes to zero. If you can manage and not "break" it - it will regenerate. This shield could tank one lightsaber swing and break but let you escape.

User should be able to turn on/off the shield at will (it should have a cooldown tho.)

    Any thoughts?

  8. I'm talking about this. Because it's not the first time one of your team causing such misunderstandings. When I do remember not that long ago when you asked me on PM that you want to use my Rogue Vader model for your movie duels mod, so I am just asking did you manage to port it on your own? I don't know which one of you 3 guys are doing this, either you Tech Shaman or Darth Malgas, but most of the times you are making a big misunderstanding. For a fresh example I'll give you the situation couple of day ago, when Tech Shaman asked me for permission to use my first full port of GOH Ahsoka, I said it's ok as long as he ask one other member for his permission as well, since he was the one who helped me fix the weight issues so I can update the model and was also very kind to provide her with backhand animations and port her lightsaber as a usable weapon for Jedi Academy. Few days after his request I noticed, he wrote on Movie Battles 2 that all of the credit was mine (?) When I simply asked him in public over my own WIP thread why and to provide me with reasonable answer, he ignored it but after the other contributor of GOH Ahsoka mentioned the same over Movie Battles 2 forum, he finally changed the credits adding his user name too.

I am not trying to charge anyone with guilt and what not I am not complaining about credits or ports, and I am not trying to act like a whiny little kiddo. But when there is a question for permission request and the author/member who is giving the request is asking you to contact the others that might have contributed in one way or another, I think it's good to ask them too. In this case I was searching over his topic to see if he changed the proper credits for Ahsoka, while I managed to see this from the screen shot below "Force Arena helmet by Tompa9". I hardly believe that you have ported it on your own, since I have provided you with the full ported helmet and mask for another mod "MovieDuels". And since this topic is going on for a long time in the outside of JKHub and seems like no one else is willing to take his steps and say the problem as it is, than I will do it and I don't really care if this will cause someone to ban me from JKHub. There is a big inconvenience going on here at JKHub for really long time and it is causing many great people (not only modelers) to avoid any requests or to release anything new. This is also causing a bit of "rust" effect on the forum, because it was a place of joy and creativeness of people managing to develop their ideas and fan passion into both Star Wars and JKA worlds. That is why many people are complaining for lack of credits or proper ones, leaving the community or don't really bother to share new material in here, that's why it has become more of a "port-o-model" community, because others that are trying to also bring new content and simply can't create or are not advanced with programs such as 3Ds Max, Maya and so on can't create a model from scratch. I personally don't mind and I am not against any kitbashes, full ports, frankensteins but even they are needed to have credits. I may not be the very bright example for this, but at least I am trying my best to get them when possible or at least I'm trying to give credit to the original authors/developers who provided us lately with tones of good new stuff such as the Galaxy of Heroes and Force Arena teams.

At the end.... I may be wrong for all mentioned above and if so I am not the one to give the final judgment for myself, so I am not even going to be mad if anyone ban/block my account. If I am wrong, I would be glad to hear it. But if I am not, than I would like to see a brighter day for JKHub and JKA.msg-1656-0-58165300-1500800142.jpg

We do not gain anything by not praising those who put their effort and time for us. Please, believe it was not intentional.

Shaman and Tompa are actively providing us with a ton of stuff from Force Arena, some GoH stuff too.

If the Author is willing to give permission to use his work and is asking to contact his fellow Contributors to get them to agree it must be done, no doubt.

These guys have no bad intentions behind their actions, never had. Discrediting others is below them. I have been helping Shaman and Tompa for a while. I know of a certain internal issue bothering the guy and that might be putting a lot of stress of him lately. Shaman has been accused falsely of TK'ing people on a public server and Administrators of Official Servers found out someone was faking him. He would not know someone is creating him a bad fame like if not for me telling him and letting him clear it up himself.

I would like to apologize to You for now. I will contact him immediately.

  9. Light helmet effect formula for Audacity.

That is what I wanted to achieve, more or less:

    https://ufile.io/wa2oe

    Original:

    https://uploadfiles.io/psxh3

    My solution:

You need to create 2 not too big equalizations after each normalize and that is it.

(If you can not remove the noise it will sound bad.) I needed this in order to get the sounds for a certain model and I am happy with the results.

    1st.

    2nd.ef95e387ae1e8.png

Also, make sure you amplify your sound before. After it is pretty tricky you would need to go selecting specific parts and that will take time.
