    i think i got a pretty good idea what needs to be tweaked ill just post the finished pics on here soon instead of step by step. because u ladies n gentlemen.. are dix lol
     

  2. yeah i was just tryina give him the simplest way n let him go from there... and ill render em with xsi if u do the work dude. u can use modtool and then gimme the file n i can import it in my xsi2012 n render it with mental ray it would be sick man its worth the effort. i was doing something like this... but like mini said, since i was making a roq i decided to go all out bump maps n high detail and it just took foreverrrr so i backburnered it. but, it would be nice to use an all original model and slash around in zbrush with it and give it nice scratches n bumps n texture then export that normal map, use the normal map for the rendering, as well as ingame once they start hacking this code up and possibly implementing something like normals. that way as sick as the model looks in the roq, itll look the same way ingame.. minus mental ray (which is a big minus lol) but it would still look more authentic and well organized.

     

    speaking of mental ray... i should do those tutorials huh? i know the basics, rendering with AO and bumps and lighting n shadows, but theres nice things like raycast n photons n things i have no idea of how to utilize

  3. only issue i see there is with the kotf menu it had transitions... and i havent messed with those yet. theyre pretty self explanitory like the rest of the menu stuff... but i just havent dabbled with it yet... but everything else is no worries thats maybe a day of working on it. what kind of platform? id say... instead of the traditional way u see right there, which just calls for a model and an anim for it and u can just place it on the screen wherever u choose... what i would do since u want a platform is maybe build the platform in xsi and rig bobs's cloth and make a .roq file from the renders of boba standing on the platform with his cloth swaying in the wind, maybe have him look left n right every once in a while... that way yer not screwing with blending the backround in with a model and making it look all planted there... instead, you would have a .roq file with all the detail and physics and beauty in the world lol and it would just be madd easier. u could throw boba on a platform and make a lil video of him just standing there idle with some cloth stuff n random movement every now and again... then u would also be able to "animate" that coruscant backround yer talking about. make it all dope n legit. u mess with xsi? or 3dsmax or something? its honestly like a days work to rip that boba model from the game, rig a few things, slap the backround on build a lil platform and render it.

    whats up on the contests? im tryina compete..that kinda stuff keeps me going.. i like a lil excitement to my modelling...self portrait contest? oh crap lets do a robot contest.. sheyiitttt lol id prolly do a medical droid or maybe a ridiculous battle droid. maybe have a set polycount? im down. i wanna square off lets get sumthin in the mix lol

    oh yeah... and to save me resurrecting a bunch more dead posts i just wanna say the 4 people on my signature are pretty much done. i havent rigged marek yet cuz he still looks weird. proxys ingame with 10 different skins... evos ingame 10 different skins. kazdans ingame but no animations yet as i havent learned animating in xsi, and i gave him constraints n bounding planes so it wont animate in dragon without a headache. i might just rig him without them n do it in dragon just so other people can make anims for him too. i gotta nice rancor all ingame n finished but u guys have already seen that one. i just wanna release em as a pack so ima start maybe maris brood soon.. if we cant getta friggin contest goin

  6. hmmm... so im hella newbie to coding but i tampered with it on the side with the jamp sdk... sooo.... all i knew was how to open it and the rough idea of how to read it... well... this one seems incomplete.. like... no solution i think? i dont need the whole crash course on coding i got google for that... but how can i compile this into a running ummm solution is it?

    i noticed when i would open up the mpsdk that there were some like uhh redundancies? or just screw ups i guess... things that were mulitple instances n just weird shit here n there that wouldnt let it run... it would just crash so i had to i beleive remove of fix a few lines when i first opened it for the first time... does anybody know what im talking about here?

     

    and just fyi i dont know if it matters but im using visualbasic should i?

  7. thx dude... yeah from the front i see his eyelid area is all scrood and hid forehead looks a lil top heavy like it could possibly just fold his face in half if he got up enough inertia...  and yeah the bumpmap comment was unrelated. i just really need to rework his eye sockets n eyebrows

    i just got lazy around his eye sockets cuz i figured they werent gunna be seen ingame... but i wasted enough polies on it i might as well had made it look right lol
