    And since WinRAR is pretty outdated and was never all that great to begin with, I'd suggest 7Zip. Lighter and faster, *and* support for more file types. If you really are going to insist on according Windows (which is absurd) then you could at least use the industry standard.

    Rename it. You may need to re-enable extensions for known file types, because Windows hides that for some stupid reason (View>Options>View>Hide extensions for known file types).
