  1. Every download of OpenRP includes the command documentation with it, however, it can also be viewed online. Please note that the online documentation is always for the latest version of the mod, and in some cases may be for a in-development version of the mod. Therefore, it is always best to consult the documentation file that was included with your download of the mod, as that information will most likely be the most correct for your version of the mod.

  2. The first pre-alpha of OpenRP is currently in development. There is no date set in stone for when it will be released - it will be done when it is done. It will be a JKHub exclusive, and of course both the server side and the client side will be available for download.

    New Rules Being Introduced
We are introducing some new rules about file submissions in order to improve the experience of those who download files, as well as to ensure a positive experience for file submitters.

    The Rules
    • Files must contain a readme. The fields which are bolded below are required to be in said readme, with unbolded fields being not required, but strongly reccommended
(If it's hard to see the bold, every field but date and filesize are in bold).
      • Author
      • File Name and Version
      • Date
      • Filesize
      • Description with installation instructions
      • Copyright/License
      • Credits with Permissions from other authors if necessary.
    • If you submit a file that is not yours, you must email the original author before submitting it asking for permission for it to be uploaded to JKHub by you.
      • If you are granted permission by the author, you may submit the file to JKHub. In the file description you must state that you received permission to upload it. It's a good idea to save a copy of the author's response in case someone claims that you actually did not receive permission, when in fact you actually did.
      • If you are denied permission by the author, obviously you are not permitted to upload the file to JKHub.
      • If you do not receive a response from the author within one week of sending the email, you may submit the file to JKHub. In the file description you must state that you attempted to contact the author and did not receive a response within a week. The staff will then determine whether or not we feel the file can be uploaded to the site. Please note that the file may be taken down if the original author requests so.
    • Lying about permissions will be taken very seriously by staff and will result in whatever consequences the staff deem appropriate.
    • If you submit a file that is not yours, you must include the original readme that came with the file if it had one. In the file description, you must state that the file was not made by you(make sure you put your username, not simply "me"), and state who it was made by.
    • Files must also of course comply with JKHub's rules (under the "Our Rules" header).
    • As stated in the JKHub rules, staff always have the final say. As is also stated in the rules, "Users are welcome and encouraged to question staff decisions if they feel these decisions are incorrect."
    • Rules may be modified, removed, and/or added over time. To see the most up-to-date rules, always check here.
Please feel free to submit feedback on these rules in this thread, or in the Ideas & Issues section of the forums.

Rules concerning readmes do not apply to files already approved.

If your file was denied recently, it may have been because we wanted it to be submitted under these rules. Please submit it again if you think this is the case.

    Thank you.

JKHub Rules were updated on 12/1/13. These are no longer complete.

  4. Your file was denied along with some other files because we are going to be posting some new rules for file submissions soon. One of the rules is that the file will have to contain a readme containing certain information. Once we post these new rules (which should be in the next couple of days) please consider reuploading the file, and the staff will discuss our opinions on whether or not it should be approved. The rules will also be posted as a news article so others who submitted files that were recently denied know to resubmit their files following these new rules.

    Thanks.

  5. The unofficial IRC never took off for this reason precisely. It wasn't integrated with the site, and nobody (not even the staff) would join. It makes me sad.

True. I might look at making the IRC official, as I'm there pretty often and it would be easier to moderate than a server.

  6. I'd rather use OpenJK as a codebase than OJP as it is being actively maintained with helpful features being added and bug fixes being done often. I'm currently doing some code changes to prepare to use OpenJK as a base, and then I'll be able to fork it on Github and easily merge changes that are made.

OJP also had some strange bugs and it would take some time to understand and analyze the code, especially for the complex systems of it like the saber system.

  7. OpenJK? Not familiar with it. JAPlus is what people demand we run. Is OpenJK capable of all the features people demand of our server? i.e. flipkick, emotes, isolated duels, etc.? If so, I'm on it!

OJK's dedicated server would just replace the JampDed.exe, not the JA+ mod.

Also, the IRC is at irc.arloria.net:6667 channel #JACoders

  8. I'll go ahead and lock this thread. It's getting rather large and now that OpenJK has its own section, that would be better suited for OJK discussion rather than just one thread.

  9. Fighter, I heard that can you register your character into a website and all the information is transferred to JKA via RPmod. What if I wanna be Savage Opress, would that be okay? And what if someone uses the same name as you?

I think you're thinking of JEDI's RPMod, not OpenRP.
