I was sort of thinking the same thing. The teeth aren't going to be THAT noticeable once you get the model in the game, especially with this old of a game engine. I don't even think most of the newer game engines have teeth that are this accurate.

@@Kessno, how's this for now? I'll record a video sometime soon in game.
Thanks @@minilogoguy18, that really looks fantastic! It's amazing how low-poly the vanilla model actually is, especially around the head/joint areas. Will look forward to the video footage of it in action. Once you complete/release this I'll have to do another play-through of Jedi Outcast using this model. Great work so far.

What would the story even be? You play as an expendable soldier and you respawn as a new one. I don't think being attached to the character is even necessary in this case.
I agree. A story wouldn't make sense with a game set up like this. They are already offering a co-op MP mode to complete objectives with a friend. If they were to make a single-player campaign, it would probably end up like CoD where the storyline isn't very memorable and you don't really feel connected with any of the characters. Not to mention the additional cost/time of creating content for it. They have never hidden the fact that it is a multiplayer-based game and I'm okay with that. The original SW: Battlefront, as best I remember, didn't have any space battles either. That came with the second game.

...I added another LOD, there are now 3 levels and that includes the high resolution model. Did them all manually rather than using a poly reduction tool since those things really mess up topology.
Probably a bit too soon, but do you have any comparison photos of the high resolution model on Artus Topside vs the low-quality vanilla AT-ST?

I'll be getting it for the PC, although I might wait until a little bit after launch.
Even if the visuals are reduced from the trailer we've seen, I'll probably have to upgrade a couple parts on my PC in order to play...

I think we should expect to see a fun-filled and lighthearted, new Star Wars adventure...
I'm not sure about fun-filled and lighthearted.
At least EP7 might have some lighthearted moments, but I am almost certain that it will be a darker film than what was portrayed in the opening of the prequels. I believe that the director of "Star Wars: Rogue One" has already stated that this film in particular will be much darker than some of the events in the new trilogy.

I am, but with Disney's stance on the EU it could happen.
I think it's pretty much a given that Kyle won't be stealing the Death Star plans in Rogue One. In Dark Forces, Kyle was working with Jan and infiltrated the base solo to retrieve the plans. It sounds like more or less that for the film there is going to be an entire insertion team going in to retrieve the plans and take them back to the Rebel Alliance. (intro to EP4)
I wouldn't stop developing the DF2 mod though just because of a possible change of story in this stand-alone film. You're remaking the DF2 game for fans, I wouldn't worry about the what direction the film takes.

Sounds like because you can't disable the desktop composting feature anymore after Windows 7. Some drivers have issue with desktop composting being on (Aero in Vista/7) and allowing the radiant rendering to work.
Just a guess though.
To my knowledge I don't believe Windows 8/8.1 or 10 use Aero anymore on the desktop.
I guess it should be noted that GtkRadiant 1.4.0 loads up fine without any issues, both the grid and 3D view. Except once I try to move the camera it starts spinning around uncontrollably and I can't unlock control of the 3D view. The version of GtkRadiant 1.6.4 that I downloaded was also from JKHub here in the 'Downloads' section.
Can you run GTKRadiant with a log? It may be that certain libraries are missing. But if you got the software to actually open, and remain open, that's a good first sign.In GtkRadiant 1.6.4 there are a few errors that are being logged, everything appears to be fine until it gets to this section:
FreeShaders...Warning: OpenGL Error GL_INVALDI_OPERATION - The specified operation is not allowed in the current state.
Done.
Synapse server core is shutting down
This is followed by numerous: WARNING: ~CSynapseClient errors.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has tried installing GtkRadiant 1.6.4 on the Windows 10 Technical Preview?
I've got it to install and open, but the grid isn't being drawn onto the screen. I have it set to 'Run as Administrator' and 'Run in Compatibility Mode'. There isn't an option to disable desktop composition as that is now part of the operating system, as was the case with Windows 8/8.1, except I was able to get Radiant 1.6.4 to run on that without any issues. Since this is a technical preview (and being run via VirtualBox) I don't expect the best of compatibility at this point. I was just curious if anyone else has tried using it and if they have gotten it to work successfully? It also appears that Jedi Academy will crash the entire OS on start-up at this point.
Thanks,

The elevator/platform at the back of the room leads down to a storage room. Perhaps they were down there and took it up once they were alerted that Yun was defeated?

@@Xycaleth Not sure if this is the right section for this but the Windows builds aren't being compiled along with the Linux/OSX builds?
At least I didn't see a build for Windows when the others were released on 3/9.

Here is a screenshot of the same Luke model later in game.

There's no glitch at this point, so it must be that there is an extra filter or something on that first comms window that's causing this phantom shadow effect...
In this shot it doesn't have that glitchy looking shadow, but I think something is still wrong. The left side (his right) is barely lit, while the rest of the face is shadowed.

I'm getting another interview next week. I'll be interviewed by the same person as well as the project head.
Best of luck to you! Should be exciting being on the other end of things.
Does this mean your Jedi Outcast restoration project will be put on permanent hold, or you'll be handing it down to someone else to finish working on it?
-
If I remember correctly, he does have a hood but it's only ever used briefly during a cutscene. The one where Boc destroys Kyle's lightsaber?
-
So it runs its own operating system, or what? Won't that mean there will be like zero apps for it?
It runs "Cyanogen 11S based on Android 4.4". All Android apps will work on it.
Looks like you pay the $299 for the entry-level model and then take it to a carrier and have them place a SIM card in it?

Applying your changes back one-by-one that you had implemented yesterday or just restoring the build to the last stable one that you had before all of the new commits?

I don't think moving the mod to multiplayer would really work, unless you just created a map-pack. I think that it should stay singleplayer.
Have you been able to overcome the issues you were having with Rend2 working with singleplayer, or were you referring to using it if you were to switch things over to multiplayer?
I wrote you awhile back asking about mapping but you never got back to me if the map I was interested in was still being worked on.
-
I completely forgot that we had a wiki. Can anyone contribute/create content right now?
-
Ah okay, so the model would need to be UV mapped again once it's imported? Good to know. I just discovered Noesis which allows you to convert from ASE to MD3 and appears to keep the texture mapping in place.
Thanks for your feedback!

I'm getting an "ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE" error after Filefront attempts to redirect me to the files.
You should use Syko's JKFiles mirror to get the files, all of the files should be available on it. (I checked and found a couple of them)
